Things may be looking apocalyptic for Greuther Fürth on the pitch – the Bavarian team is tenth in the Bundesliga 2, following relegation the season prior – but its fans have decided to mark the moment with some appropriate tifos, inspired by Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.
As posted on the team’s Instagram page, the crowd created cut-outs of Ellie and a bunch of Clickers, and wielded them as they defeated Jahn Regensburg 2-1. The artists even changed Ellie’s tattoo to include the name of the team, while other fans held up sheets of grass and foliage to complete the scene.
German football stadiums are renowned for having some of the best atmospheres in Europe, so it’s not exactly surprising to see a coordinated effort like this. Nevertheless, we imagine the team at Naughty Dog will be pretty humbled when it sees these photos.
