Many had fairly high hopes for Redemption Reapers — a strategy RPG with a lot of big names attached to it, including a Fire Emblem veteran. However, the PS4 title, which released back in February, failed to meet those lofty expectations. It currently sits at a lukewarm 63 critic average over on OpenCritic, with our own sister site Nintendo Life giving Redemption Reapers a disappointing 5/10 on Switch.
But all hope is not lost. Announced alongside two key updates, the RPG is getting a PS5 version at some point in July — and yes, it'll be a free upgrade if you already own the game on PS4.
As for the aforementioned updates, versions 1.30 and 1.40 will introduce balance adjustments, user interface improvements, New Game +, and even an easy difficulty mode. It all sounds great, given that most reviews point out frustrating difficulty spikes and a lack of polish.
Oh, and Redemption Reapers' physical edition has been delayed from late April to early July, just in case you were waiting on that.

I am playing this at the moment and i dont get the difficulty complaints. I havent wiped yet and i am almost done with the platinum and campaign.
For me its a solid 7.5
The story is a bit meh but the gameplay is nice, just take your time on each map.
Recommended for everyone who likes strategy rpgs.
Free update for ps5 sounds nice, hope for a seperate trophy list
If anyone has some questions ill try to answer them, the reviews are extremely harsh imo
@Ashkorsair Can you rate this game for a Fire Emblem fan?
@Frank90
If you like fire emblem give this a go.
Do mind that the fire emblem mindset doesnt get you far.
No powerhouse individuals here (especially early game) you get 5 characters and you really need to treat them as a unit.
I was definitely interested but held off after reviews. I may give it a go.
What was wrong with it that it got a 5/10
@Ashkorsair Thanks for the recomendation mate.
