There are just a few short weeks until Star Wars Jedi: Survivor powers up its lightsaber and cuts through your PS5 console. Those of you on a media blackout may want to close your eyes now, then, because here’s a final gameplay trailer ahead of launch – and it looks good. Some of the scenes on display here are truly breathtaking, irrespective of whether you’re a fan of the titan franchise or not.
We’ll obviously bring you our verdict on the game later in the month, but in the meantime, we’re curious to know how many of you are planning to pick this up? Wave your lightsabers in the comments section below, and let us know.

Pre-ordered the Deluxe version last week. I'm really hyped for this and it really seems like they expanded and improved everything while adding a ton of new stuff, visually it also looks amazing.
"Star Wars" isn't science fiction, it's space fantasy. Some pedantic nerd was going to mention it, it might as well be this pedantic nerd. 😉.
@LN78 Fair, I'm going to edit before someone is less kind.
Looks promising. Day 1 buy for me.
Looks great. Now if only April 28th would hurry up and get here that would be nice.
Really like the previous one, so defo on my radar!

All the years I've been watching Star Wars and I've never considered this, i've just blindly assumed/accepted it's Science Fiction
On thinking about it I think largely you are right, but I don't see why it can't be both either. Almost no writer, or creative, creates within these false boundaries that have no fixed definition.
Ultimately it's interesting (to me) but unimportant.
@themightyant Broadly speaking, if it has a magic system (such as The Force) then it's fantasy and "Star Wars" specifically comes with the "a long time ago..." fairytale trappings.
N.i.c.e.That trailer is excellent.star wars jedi fallen is a amazing game.star wars jedi survivor looks even better.word up son
Oh I can't wait. Loved the first one. The sequel looks awesome.
First time I've seen it, loved the last one, clicked the trailer expecting it to look like the last one... wow... those graphics.. thats looks... excellent
@LN78 As I said I think you are largely right. But looking at things like the ethics and consequences of cloning and free will; seeing societies fall apart due to technological change; and much more all seems very sci-fi to me. Albeit Sci-fi lite it doesn't really go deep in on those themes only skirts them.
I guess my point is I don't like hard lines to be drawn to classify Art. They all blur the lines and it's entirely possible to have themes from both. Only the librarians and book store owners should have to struggle to physically categorise them. Digitally, and in our minds, things can happily co-exist in both.
I have to say, I wasn't really feeling this game at first. I thought Fallen Order was just okay and the trailers for this just made it look like more of the same. But the extended gameplay previews flipped me all the way around. This game looks awesome and I'm definitely picking it up day one.
Platinum the first one. Great game. With minor flaws in animation. But overall a very good game mixing metroidvania mechanics with the enemy system respawn like souls game.
High hopes for this one.
Can you be evil? Or just neutral even?
@themightyant Personally speaking, I think it's up to the creator to categorise this stuff. Here, speaking about 'Star Wars', in his own words, is George Lucas talking to “Rolling Stone” magazine in 1977:
“Well, I had a real problem because I was afraid that science-fiction buffs and everybody would say things like, “You know there’s no sound in outer space”. I just wanted to forget science. That would take care of itself. Stanley Kubrick made the ultimate science-fiction movie and it is going to be very hard for somebody to come along and make a better movie, as far as I’m concerned. I didn’t want to make a 2001, I wanted to make a space fantasy that was more in the genre of Edgar Rice Burroughs; that whole other end of space fantasy that was there before science took it over in the Fifties. Once the atomic bomb came, everybody got into monsters and science and what would happen with this and what would happen with that. I think speculative fiction is very valid but they forgot the fairy tales and the dragons and Tolkien and all the real heroes.”
George Lucas: The Wizard of ‘Star Wars’.
Cue the John Williams music.
'Star Wars' is, and always has been, a fantasy tale.
It's really nice to be equally excited for three big releases this month (Burning Shores, Dead Island 2 and Jedi Survivor).
@LN78 Love the quote, and agree the creator should categorise... if they want to. I defer to Lucas, Fantasy it is! Thanks for sharing.
It's looks like there'll be buddies tagging along with cal on some missions. Looking real good.
Really liked the first one, admittedly late to the party a year or so. My big wonder now is how the game ends up performing. Even this "in game" Footage is almost entirely rendered ingame cutscenes, which can certainly achieve a particular refresh rate that may not necessarily be consistent.
I have EA Play so my plan is to wait for it to hit that.
@themightyant There's even zombies and ''regular'' non-force magic in SW. It hasn't really made its way into the live action stuff yet, but it's in the cartoons, games and books.
True sci-fi shows like Star Trek go out of their way to explain how everything that happens maybe somehow ''scientifically accurate'', even though it isn't most of the time, but there's an attempt. SW is like any other fantasy show that says screw that, I'm gonna do whatever I want; but it allows it focus more on other elements of story telling.
But yeah, the distinction can sometimes be a bit blurry, since most sci-fi media requires some kind of unrealistic presumption.
Yeh I like that. First game felt weird when I first booted up, I thought this lad had a funny gait some unorthodox movement will be tripping all over the shop but soon adapted and could not put it down
@KaijuKaiser same, plus mh rise dlc
And sf6
Star Wars has always been Space Opera for me and Star Trek Sci Fi. But I’m old and I’m not going to quibble over terminology. I am looking forward to this game though! Seems like positive improvements on the first game.
Will still wait for reviews and get it down the line as even my PS5 backlog is building up now
Little troublesome that I've seen more reveals from this game than Zelda Tears of the Realm (Zelda BOTW2)
Their word of fixing a lot of stuff from the first game is what made me go back and attempt to finally finish it after 6 years. I really had to fight the urge to see that 100% completion rate on the map but i knew if I did that I'd just burn myself out again.
Finishing the story and jumping straight into the sequel will be a great treat and I sure hope they fix a lot of the annoyances from the first game because it was a slog to get through
Day one purchase provided it doesn't release in the same broken state as the first game, which I absolutely loved once they'd patched it up.
@LivewireCLS April is definitely a very packed month! I'll pick up Dead Island 2 in a few years, but definitely pre-ordering both Burning Shores and Jedi Survivor.
