The terribly named Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars could be getting a release date in the near future, if a new Taiwanese rating is anything to go by (as spotted by Gematsu). Ratings like this often suggest that some kind of announcement is incoming, and in Suikoden's case, a launch date seems most likely.
If you haven't been keeping up, this is a remastered package that includes PS1 classics Suikoden and Suikoden II on PS4. Based on what we've seen of the project up until now, these games have gone through a fairly significant visual overhaul, and they look fantastic.
Officially, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is slated for a vague '2023' release, but seeing as it's been months since we last heard about it, we reckon a blowout is probably imminent. Hopefully Konami drops some all-new info soon.

Very much looking forward to these
I'm here for them. Was hoping they'd bring them over to premium so I can just download my PS3 classics for free but this works too
I'll buy these too as I never played the originals
@ShogunRok Do you know if these remasters will include exp boosts, or any other "quality of life" modifiers similar to the FF Pixel Remasters?
I will buy the ever loving rune out of this.
I will buy digital, physical, pre order, limited editions all of it.
I will be a sl#t for this.
And i will like it
@cold_chain There hasn't been any official word on stuff like that yet. I imagine we'll get confirmation of additional features in the next info drop, if there are any.
I think it'll be a bit disappointing if there aren't any QoL updates.
I hate that I've played Suikoden 2 multiple times but never get to finish it. Will definitely finish it this time once the remaster is out
I'd prefer remasters of Suikoden 2 onwards.
I feel like we are officially in PS2 era “too many JRPGS” territory. And that is good. Now please hit me with Persona 3 remake and FFVII rebirth news.
I still haven’t played though Octopath II and Live a Life 😭
I'm glad there seems to be news on the horizon. It's been a long time since the announcement.
Fly me to Taiwan, I'll rate the damn thing myself
So many retro games coming back and i must buy them all
Let's go I was ready for these games at tgs last year when they were announced
Never played the originals but have been itching for some 2D JRPGs. With the FF pixel remasters around the corner and a potential launch date announcement on this I'm going to be in heaven for the rest of the year
Hopefully coming to PC / Steam Deck which has become my go to place for retro and remasters. Play docked on the TV & pick up 'n go.
Edit: It is listed as coming to PC. Hopefully Deck compatible.
I've never played the series before, might be interested.
@cold_chain I don't see the reason for an exp boost as these games have no optional mega bosses and the games themselves were story driven and both were made to be easy to enjoy, that's from the devs mouths themselves back in 95 and 98. You could easily level up parties quickly with both main protagonist and one other leveled up charater alone. But a speed up option would be great!
@ShogunRok really the only qol these games need if any, are battle speed ups as the games themselves are quite easy to beat.
Come on Konami, July and we’ve still not heard anything. Playing Suikoden 2 from a bargain bin in 1997 got me into Final Fantasy (7)
