VR Skater will grind PSVR2 from 21st June, 2023. The skateboarding simulation – which sees you execute tricks by manipulating your virtual board using your hands – promises the “most authentic, challenging, and immersive skating game ever”. You can check out a new trailer embedded above, which demonstrates how the gameplay works.
The developer, Deficit Games, is using the haptic feedback found in the PSVR2 Sense Controllers to replicate the feel of rails and the tension of the triggers to replicate the trucks of a real skateboard. Conceptually this does seem odd, because obviously you perform most skateboard tricks using your feet, but the gameplay looks undoubtedly entertaining in the trailer – we can’t wait to try it out!

Love my PSVR2 and if it reviews well I will get this but...I just can't get in my head how this will work well, having to look down all the time to check your board? Anyway, hope I am wrong...
@EnragedGibbon It does seem like a weird concept but I'm eager to try it out. Maybe they'll do a demo at launch or something?
More importantly, Hubris Enhanced Edition is out next month!
I guess the best way to describe it is like Tech Decks but with a first person view. Which is odd.
I'll play anything in VR that isn't horror but this concept still doesn't register for me at all. Definitely need a review for this one.
It's time to bring back that crazy Tony Hawk: Ride controller.
@get2sammyb It must work at some level or else it wouldn't get past proof of concept stage...as you say, a demo would defo be needed for this one!
