Remedy has confirmed Alan Wake II will release for PS5 on 17th October 2023 in a new trailer shown at the PlayStation Showcase. Interestingly, the footage shown reveals you'll play as a female FBI agent — presumably alongside Alan Wake himself. Take a look above.

It didn't look too bad but they said it would be more horror. Didn't look very scary to me, could be fun though.
Max payne in there as well
Wow this is a digital only release - https://www.alanwake.com/story/alan-wake-2-faq/
@paulbuck1996 still really excited about the game but yeah what a bummer
I see you there Sam. Or Max. Genuinely surprised how Remedy and IO interactive have remained independent so far. Top tier talents.
DIGITAL ONLY? That's exactly the 1 way they could have fumbled this being a day 1 purchase for me. Wow. I'll wait until they change their minds.
One of the few positive things from this show and it's not even an exclusive.
A must buy for me, makes me want to get the remaster now, on sale too.
I hope it will be like the 1st one had been advertised, openish, dynamic environments more.
HYPE trailer, reminds me I still need to replay thru Alan Wake 1 + DLC, and then tackle Control finally and it's DLC.
@paulbuck1996 @JaphyRider @MrSensical I could see us eventually getting physical copies, after the digital copies have sold well enough.
Either directly thru Epic Games, or using a 3rd party like Limited Run Games, Fangamer etc.
@KidRyan hopefully!
@KidRyan Yeah it'll end up getting a Limited Run/fangamer release for sure, it's just really sad a game from a studio of this calibre and quality has to go through that route. Remedy is such a great studio, they deserve better!
Ah, perhaps the genuine highlight of the show for me. Preordered this one right away!
Can't believe this is digital only. I'm not someone who collects physical games but I do sell my games after I play them. It just changed my plans from pre-order to wait for a DEEP sale.
Trailer was great,loved to see "max payne" is in the game,but i want a physical release...
Digital only.. oh well Turkey PSN it is.. £15 for standard so I don't mind. Haha
@MrSensical Oh I agree! I wish they could have partnered with a publisher that cares about physical/retail releases.
@JaphyRider
Wow, really? Ugh, that's a shame.
I was excited for the sequel, but this just screams RE4 rip-off and NOT Alan Wake 2.
I prefer Control now anyway, hopefully Control 2 doesn't change drastically.
@KidRyan
So they're still with 505 then?
What a shame, after the BS they pulled with Control and it's upgrades and the BS lies with Bloodstained on the Switch I really don't want to support them. But Control was amazing and I'm excited for it's sequel.
@Kang81 No they're not still with 505. Remedy's current publisher is Epic Games, who is notorious for preferring digital only releases.
@KidRyan
Well dang, not sure that's any better. I really hope Control 2 doesn't go digital only.
@Kang81 It's possible they might still be able to release Control 2 thru 505 Games, we'll have to wait and see.
