GTA 5

Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two could be lining up the franchise's sixth mainline entry for a PS5 release between April 2024 and March 2025, if hints dropped during the company's yearly earnings report are anything to go by. A press release says the firm has been preparing to release a number of games over the next couple of years, all of which are "groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry". Sounds like GTA 6, no?

Through these releases, Take-Two expects to "achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow" across fiscal year 2025, and then sustain that through the following year. Research from IGN shows Take-Two's annual net bookings generally rest at around $3 billion, so the company is planning something significant for the next couple of years if it wants to experience such a sharp increase.

With fiscal year 2025 sounding like the span of 12 months when those heavy hitters will actually launch, there's a chance GTA 6 could be releasing before March 2025 rolls around. Speaking on the probability of Take-Two actually achieving its targets, CEO Strauss Zelnick told GamesIndustry.biz it's very much achievable, "As you know, it’s exceedingly rare that we talk about out years. And when we do, it’s because we have a high degree of confidence. It’s a reflection of a pipeline we’ve been investing in for years. We’re beginning to see that come to fruition in fiscal 24, and then in fiscal 25, we expect to see some great successes."
