Crime Boss: Rockay City is aiming for a 22nd June release on PS5, according to super reliable leaker billbil-kun. If correct, this means that the dismal first-person shooter will launch on the same day as Final Fantasy XVI. Can you imagine?
In case you didn't know, Crime Boss is already out on PC, and has been since March. It also got absolutely trashed by reviewers (it's sitting at a 52 on Metacritic), and those criticisms were mirrored by players at launch. From what we've seen of the game, it's fair to assume that the budget was dumped on a cast of barely-trying celebrities, while the actual gameplay was left to rot. Shockingly short missions and some baffling cutscenes make it a meme-worthy release.
The question, then, is whether it's being purposefully hidden behind a juggernaut title like Final Fantasy XVI, or whether publisher 505 Games really does think it can go toe-to-toe with one of the year's biggest blockbusters. We'll let you answer that one!
Who knows, Crime Boss: Rockay City might be a much improved game by the time it lands on PS5 — but we wouldn't get your hopes up.

Both come out on my birthday lol
@Americansamurai1 Imagine asking for Final Fantasy 16 and getting Crime Boss as a birthday present.
I actually like the look of this in trailers. Some of my most played games average a 4 - 7 out of 10. I have a high tolerance for janky, scruffy games.
@ShogunRok @Americansamurai1
It'll be like that time I got Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge...
@eltomo Buy me Bonestorm or go to hell!
Yoshi P is shaking in his boots. Who could blame him when he is facing off against Chuck Norris?
Don't get cocky it's gonna get rockay
@eltomo you have chosen driver
Putting out a game the same month as Diablo and Final Fantasy? Who approved this?
Guess I gotta cancel my FF 16 preorder
Wow poor FF16. Too bad for them, but hey maybe they can delay the game?
@BeerIsAwesome Agreed. And I also had a ton of fun with Wanted:Dead too.
@RonnieL 😅
Surely an easy platinum?
That Kotaku article about this game is a perfect takedown of one of the worst games to ever release. So bad that the culture outright rejected it.
Then they'll probably get sales only on the Xbox/PC versions, as most PS players will get FF.
The important question is does Crime Boss have a character called Clive in it? Does it? It might, but I doubt it.
@RonnieL I think people would buy it. It's a 40€ game where I'm from, but releasing so close to FF is a bad idea.
@ShogunRok I'd straight up start balling thank God I already pre ordered the deluxe edition 🙏 🙌 😎
Damn they're really trying to revive Crime Boss to kill it a second time huh?
This definitely feels deliberate. They know the game isnt going to sell on ps5 after its dreadful pc release so they hide it behind a behemoth so they can blame the low sales on that instead of being a bad game. You had Danny Trejo, Chuck Norris and Micheal Rooker. How did ya screw this up so bad
FF16 was a day one buy but now im not so sure...
Decisions, decisions. I'd get FF16 if Danny Trejo was on it.
What to do, what to do....🤔(😉)
Easy choice for me, will be picking up Final Fantasy 16.
