The first of three story expansions for the new Saints Row will release sooner than some people realise. Titled The Heist and the Hazardous, this DLC is about the Saints taking revenge on an "obnoxious movie star".
It drops next week, on the 9th May, alongside a major update — also the first of three, planned out until August. This initial patch promises a "huge combat overhaul", as well as a new city district, the introduction of a photo mode, and more. Sounds rather robust, doesn't it?
We don't really know how big this The Heist and the Hazardous expansion will be, but it's clear that developer Volition is committed to finishing what it started. We'll probably be getting a gameplay trailer in the near future.

That image does nothing to convince me they have listened to anyone.
I really want to get Saints Row, but the price hasn't dropped as fast as I expected.
@thefourfoldroot1 What does that even mean?
Did you expect them to overhaul their entire visual design from main story to DLC release? Like what point are you even trying to make? What change did you (it's you, not "anyone") expect?
@MFTWrecks
I mean the characters look like d*cks you wouldn’t want to play as or be around, the same as the base game. Posers rather than gangsters. The type of criminals who need to go to a stylist before performing a heist and who pose for the CCTV.
And, yes, it was a pretty common criticism from the first images shown before release.
@thefourfoldroot1 The default characters may not be all that appealing, but it's worth reiterating you create your own main character.
I think part of the reason I had a decent amount of fun with Saints Row is because I made an absolute sociopath of a lead character. He also looked like a total d*ck, but it added some genuine spice to the game.
@get2sammyb I picked it up a few weeks back off amazon for 20 quid I did have a £5 gift balance as well,so 15 isn't that bad ,the dialogue is atrocious though.
They already succeeded with a heist when they sold the main game.
Sweet, I hated the story and the characters but I did enjoy just goofing around in the game. That being said if they come back hopefully they do more to fix what they broke. All that being said I am already committed to seeing how this ends.
@ShogunRok
Lol, true point, but I downloaded the character creator and tried to make my Saints 4 type character and couldn’t. Not appropriate I guess. That was clue two the game wasn’t for me.
@thefourfoldroot1 Lolol
@get2sammyb Same here. I want to play it but not at full price. I'll wait for it to go on a deep sale before I buy. I love Saints Row games and I never played the 1st one so I know this will keep me busy for a while when I get it.
Even though this undersold badly, glad it's getting some support.
Picked this up for €9.99 new (!) in GameStop a few weeks ago. Waiting for all the free DLC to release by August before starting it.
@get2sammyb @stridernyc Same plan here, soon as the complete edition has dropped to $25 New or cheaper I'll bite.
Ohh didn’t realize new content was coming so soon. Will have to check it out.
