The debut trailer for The Plucky Squire left us extremely excited to play this new game from Devolver Digital, and the follow-up is just as charming. The colourful action adventure's core concept of popping in and out of a child's storybook continues to win us over in this new gameplay.
It looks to feature lots of varied gameplay styles in both the 2D and 3D elements, going from side-scrolling platforming to top-down sword slashing. The game is bursting with imagination, and we can't wait to see all its twists and turns when it launches on PS5 later this year.

I've been following this since the moment it was announced and it's somehow looking even better now than it did back then, I am literally shaking with excitement for this one, absolutely cannot wait for it to come out!
Also, fun fact: the main producer/art director for this is James Turner, better known for his work as an art director/creature designer for Pokemon!
This looks great! I hadn't heard of it before, but it's absolutely on my radar now.
The smaller games were the highlight of the show for me, and I hope they get some attention once the disappointment over the lack of big hitters wears off. This looks really clever and I'm looking forward to playing it.
One of the best looking games at the showcase.
At first I was like, ugh, but the 3D elements look great. I’ll keep an eye on this one.
@ItsBritneyB_tch exactly same with me, I saw the first part and thought it was the worse game shown so far, and then the 3D part came and now it's a day one buy.
Was one of the highlights!
So, is this the only upcoming kids game from the showcase?
Hopefully the physical release on PS5 in the future because I'm already interested with this game.
Both 2D and 3D elements are stellar. Hope it's got co-op to play with the kids.
One of the games of the show for me.
Tellingly it got a great response in the chat during the show, the complete opposite of the first few games shown.
I’ve been so stoked for this game
Pretty sad that this was the best reveal of the show, other than (maybe) Spidey and MGS — and it's not even an exclusive.
I'm honestly more excited about the Amico games coming to Switch.
game of the show for me
One of the few highlights in the showcase. I known about this game for awhile but I was still happy to see it again.^^
Depending on the price and release date, I may buy this at launch.
Still looks really good, imaginative. Can't wait.
