A sure-fire sign of a good game is when there are multiple colons in the title, so we're excited to see more of Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance. The announcement trailer above introduces the idea; essentially, this looks to be an action adventure that lets you live out the best moments from the hit animated series.
Featuring nine playable characters, including Aang, Katara, Toph, and Zuko, you'll be able to play through the game solo or in local or online co-op with another player. The art style looks nice, aiming to ape the look of the show, and it seems each character will have their own set of element-bending abilities.
Aside from that, details are scarce. It's being made by Bamtang Games and GameMill Entertainment, the former of which brought us the first two Nickelodeon Kart Racers titles. The latter published those, and is perhaps best known for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, so it seems the team is well-versed in Nick's shows.
There's no release date, but it's pencilled in to launch on PS5 and PS4 later this year. Are you excited for Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance? Discuss in the comments section below.

The graphics look awful. PS3 quality. No thank you.
I am literally listening to Lodger right now and I read Don’t Look Back in Aanger at the same time Bowie sang the line. Whoa.
I know this is probably more an Oasis reference, but still…
Ah, the game though, I hope it’s good? Doesn’t look good. Love Avatar, but this looks like a weird iffy licensed game coming out 15 years late.
Looks worse that Platinum's Legend of Korra game. Not a good sign.
I feel like everything Airbender has been lackluster in wake of the original series
Just give us an original series storyline game on PSVR2 and I’ll call it even
The Last Airbender is perfect for VR
I've never actually watched Avatar the Last Airbender, but I do know that it was a huge deal during it's run.
It feels like it's been reduced to bargain bin game fodder now.
You look at what Arc System Works has been able to accomplish with 3D models and animation work to make everything look like it was ripped straight out of an anime, and then you look at this.
Maybe the gameplay and story is really fun and engaging, but at least have the asset work to back it up.
I feel something as pop-culturally important as The Last Airbender should be developed with care and respect rather than what looks like a rushed title to exploit an IP.
@Enuo There was a 3DS tactical RPG that wasn't too bad (for Korra).
We never getting a bigger budget game 😂
I don't care if it looks like a ps3 title. It's still Avatar. I will play it and I will cherish every moment.
Also, once again, why do games with 8/16 bit graphics get a pass, but ps3 looking games get slammed?
@naruball Because i didn't spend five hundred bucks on a PS5 to play PS3 games.
I also feel like mentioning that it doesn't look particularly good even by PS3 standards given how this is the same console that brought us Metal Gear Solid 4 and FF13.
That music... those animations... they done Avatar dirty, they did. Oof.
Do we get the platinum within 30 seconds of starting? /s
Seems about a decade late... in many ways
@LifeGirl so, you spent 500 dollars to play NES games on it?
Looks pretty bad. Animations are rough and the characters look lifeless
You already know this is going to be a 6/10
Characters look fine but those environments are a bit off. Hope it's good. I really liked the four nations tile game from the older one.
@naruball I don't understand what you just accused me of.
@LifeGirl you may want to reread my post then. Specifically, the second paragraph.
I think choosing to recreate the show as a game is not a good play. You will never beat the show. Gotta try something else. Make the game as a prequel or maybe play in the world as a side character.
They would get more value out of putting their characters (Little Big Planet Avatar puppets?) in other games than making this.
So many choices! Not this one.
If it's fun I'll play it. I don't care about the graphics.
@LifeGirl HADES has ps3 like graphics and its one of the best games of the decade so im not sure what are you complaining about
Not surprised it looks very low budget considering they got the same publishers for Nick All-Star Brawl and Nerf Legends.
