Update: As part of Summer Game Fest, the 19th September release date for Lies of P was officially confirmed at the end of a brand new trailer, embedded above. Even better, there's a demo you can download on PS5 and PS4 right now, so give it a try.
Original Article: Lies of P looks like it’ll release on 19th September, at least according to new listings published by Amazon Japan. As pointed out by Gematsu, Japanese retailers rarely post placeholder dates, and a new trailer is expected at Summer Game Fest later today. As such, it seems likely the launch will be confirmed imminently at Geoff Keighley’s showcase.
This is the potentially promising Bloodborne-esque action RPG, of course, which has attracted plenty of positive feedback in previous trailers. The title was previously slated for August 2023, but presumably publisher Neowiz felt it needed a little more time in the workshop to get properly polished up. All should be confirmed within the next few hours.

Same day as Mortal Kombat ... no thanks, maybe in a year or two.
@GymratAmarillo Didn't even realise it was the same day as Mortal Kombat! Ouch!
I'm always up for some more Bloodborne/Souls-inspired indies - recently completed Thymesia and had a good time, still need to get around to Steelrising. Hopefully Lies of P will be good as well.
@Gaia093 Steelrising is my favorite "Souls-like" apart from the From Software ones. Enjoy.
From what I've been reading about this game lately, this looks like it could be a sleeper hit for fans of the Soulsborne games. I know I'll end up playing this at some point.
Don't need "Bloodborne at home" when I actually DO have Bloodborne at home 😅
@dschons @Gaia093 Steelrising is a fantastic game!! THOROUGHLY enjoyed that one.
Lords Of The Fallen. And this game.Oh and Dragon Dogma 2 Looking forward to..
I have a soft spot for reimagined fairy tales, and I can't say I've ever seen one for Pinocchio, so I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Lies of p starring phil spencer😄.anyways this game looks amazing.its gonna be cool.word up son
Wish people would stop comparing this to Bloodborne…
Anyway, I’m excited for this!
@playstation1995 And guest appearance will be Boris Pinocchio Johnson..Maybe even Matt Hancock for good measure he got that serpent smirk look like Phil...Lolz..
Theres paying homage and then there's ripping off
@dschons Not sure if you played Nioh 1 or 2 but they're my personal favourite Souls like. In some of the combat mechanics they're better than From titles
Very excited by this. Really hope it holds up somewhere close to my thoughts
Really thought this came out already
It's getting harder and harder for me to get excited about another Souls-like. And even though this looks good, it's not Bloodborne because nothing else ever will be.
I'm sure I'll play it eventually, same with Lords of the Fallen, but right now it's getting a great big 'Meh' from me
I love Bloodborne and keen to give this a try, and yet... I can just see it being underwhelming. I love the Fromsoft games and none of the imitators have held my interest. But maybe this will be different...
@Brundleflies21 oh yeah nioh 1 and 2 is the bezt souls like game along with remnant from the ashes.word up son
@TheLotteryMan1 haha definitely. With todd howard.word up son
@Brundleflies21 Tried them but didn't like them unfortunately.
Demo seems pretty solid. Visuals are great too, may actually be the best-looking souls like yet (far exceeding anything From has done visually). Typical soulslike foundation with some additional mechanics. Overall, feels pretty, and the weapons are definitely unique to one another.
This and Lords this fall. Souls fans will be eating good!
Im about to download lies of p demo right now.im excited for this game.word up son
Just finished the demo and this is an excellent soulsborne, it really have the bloodborne vibe (even the rush system). The game is much more forgiving (easier) than souls games though.
The game looks very good, but I don’t like all these Bloodborne comparisons, cause it sounds very silly as there can be no game like Bloodborne, unless it’s Bloodborne 2 (which we won’t see I believe).
Really enjoying the demo so far. Definitely borrowing a lot of systems from FromSoftware games (bonfires from Dark Souls, health regain from Bloodborne, tool arm from Sekiro), but doing it in a way that feels purposeful, and not just copying them for the sake of it. I’m loving the Pinnochio story reimagining as well; the atmosphere and artistic direction are interesting. Haven’t finished the demo yet, but it’s been a fun journey so far. I was hesitant from just watching the trailers, but I’m convinced after actually playing the game. Maybe not a day one, but definitely will buy and enjoy it at some point soon after release!
@Gaia093 i can't say anything bad about steel rising. I did not expect anything special but it turned out to be a brilliant game (5 play throughs) and you really should grab it at some point. A pleasent surprise indeed and i'm looking forwards to this as well..
Played it up to the second boss (guy with horse mask wielding a totally-not Saw Cleaver on a bridge); it's competent enough, but not in "pre-order the steelbook" territory for me.
I was getting strong Blooodborne vibes from the whole thing, but then again Bloodborne is the only Soulslike I've played (not counting Nioh or Stranger of Paradise) so I'm prolly not the best person to judge.
Not really a souls like fan but I will try it when it comes to Gamepass.
@playstation1995 facts lol phil be lyin like a mug. Phil need to go!
Picked this up, cannot wait for sep
Well, I downloaded the demo. If I like it, I’ll get around to it on Gamepass, if I don’t, oh well. It looks like that type of game, I suppose.
Been watching my kid play the demo for about 2 hours, soulslike aren’t for me, and they seem to be enjoying it. Very Bioshock inspired thematically. Timothy Chalamet makes a nice non-talking Link like Pinocchio. Voice acting is pretty good. Still don’t see the appeal, it’s all so dark and brown and slow and repetitive, but if that’s what you like this seems pretty good.🤷🏻♂️
I'm still terrible at playing Souls-like games, so definitely won't be buying this at full price.
That aside, loved the new trailer and gameplay! Looking forward to playing this in a few years when it's dirt cheap or free with PS+.
