Atari has revealed it's bringing a vastly updated and upgraded version of RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures to PS5, PS4 later this year. Dubbed RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe, it adds 80 more rides and attractions to the theme park builder to bring the total to 200, along with a terrain editor and optimised controller support. The UI has been improved over the Nintendo Switch, PC original, the coaster builder has been enhanced, and there will also be some performance improvements to look forward to.
Of the 80 new rides, some will be seasonally themed while seven new types of roller coasters can be customised at a deeper level than before. You'll now be able to build those attractions on four different terrain environments: Alpine Mountains, Desert Canyons, Jungle Tropics, and Lunar Moonscape. Across three game modes (sandbox, adventure, and scenarios), you can look forward to a modern control scheme that's been "fully optimised for a fluid and fun simulation experience".
A selection of new screenshots can be viewed below:
This new version of RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures represents one of just a few appearances for the series on Sony consoles, with the last being PSVR game RollerCoaster Tycoon Joyride. The likes of Planet Coaster and Park Beyond have attempted to emulate the classic PC experience on consoles and fill that gap. The title comes from Graphite Lab and Nvizzio Games.
"RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe is a streamlined and approachable version of the decades-spanning amusement park builder that has taken the world by storm," a press release explains. "Design parks, customize rides, configure attractions, and maintain gorgeous landscapes, all in the name of keeping guests entertained and happy. Three modes of gameplay that have been optimized for use with console controllers challenge you to unleash your creativity and flex your management skills."

No way, one of my favourite games growing up as a kid. Would play for hours on PC in the evenings.
Day one for me
@BeerIsAwesome should post it next to the park beyond review 🤣 will be picking this up absolutely
Awesome loved this back in the day.
Really enjoy consoles getting these PC type games
God this game was a flaming pile of disappointment. Just put Tycoon 3 on PS, that one might be dated now but it’s at least good.
Hold up! Isn't this the one Atari only made via crowdfunding for Switch and PC and also plays like a mobile game?
It's RCT Classic (essentially 1 & 2 combined) from Chris Sawyer we want! Not this.
I'll stick to Frontier's Planet Coaster on PS5 and RCT3 on Switch, thanks unless "Classic" gets a console port eventually.
Now this I'm interested in!
i haven't played a theme park game since the PS1 days, i picked up the other title from plus recently but haven't had time to play it yet, will keep an eye on this one
I used to play this alot on my old PC.
Ah Theme park and Theme hospital were pretty good games back on the PS1
Atari should just stop they haven't been good since 3. All phone and PC attempts have been terrible. The business model, the design/structure and what you do is very awkward and not a good direction to take I find at least.
https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/rollercoaster-tycoon-adventures Critics low, Users not happy and not surprised and I edited this after my other paragraphs. I don't take metacritic seriously but not surprised at the response either.
I haven't really seen much changes to tycoon games in a while either while strategy has made improvements I think over time and Age of Wonders 4 is excellent.
Park Beyond I hope is better all alternatives are better than current gen RCT has been going down hill and I don't see Atari changing the business model or lacking design in areas. They might I just don't see it. Same way Commander Keen hasn't either from that side of PC gaming.
While Two Point Hospital does as good as Theme Hospital did in the ways people wanted Atari doesn't get the hint with Roller Coaster Tycoon at all.
Granted Microsoft didn't either with Zoo Tycoon Xbox One with Kinect focus then actually a zoo with management depth and too simplified.
Screamride was more a demolition game than a theme park game.
I'll stick to old ones like Thrillville, RC1 Xbox port or the PC versions of 1&2 and expansions or OpenRCT2 as the best it can be on PC or go to Planet Coaster/Zoo or others on PS4/One+ gen consoles.
@Perryg92 so this isn't what I was thinking it was? Just updated rct classic or something? Talk about heart break.
@Cutmastavictory unfortunately it's not an updated RCT Classic, but instead an updated version of the Switch game "Adventures" which was essentially a port of the mobile game "RCT Touch".
The NintendoLife team reviewed the Switch game back in 2018:
https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch/rollercoaster_tycoon_adventures
I will definitely be buying this
I really think people are getting confused.
This isn't a remasternof the classic its a port of a port of a mobile game.
If anyone is after a classic, parkitect is the only game which is basically a modernised version of RTC 1 and 2. Otherwise its planet cosster
