Update: There was probably very little doubt, but Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is officially coming to the PS5, as confirmed during today's Capcom Showcase. There was no new information outside of a rerun of yesterday's trailer, but we'll be sure to update you if and when we learn more.
Original Article: Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. That’s a mouthful, isn’t it? It also happens to be the name of an all-new Capcom title, announced during the Xbox Showcase earlier today. To be honest, we got very little context from the trailer, and we’re still awaiting further information from the Japanese publisher. We don’t even know, at this stage, whether it’s coming to PS5 or PS4 – but it’s safe to assume it is, as it wasn’t labelled as exclusive or anything like that.
“A new tale of the Kami awaits,” the official blurb reads. “Witness an epic clash between the sprit realm and mortal man, featuring traditional Japanese aesthetics.” And that’s the extent of all we know for now. We imagine further information will emerge over the coming week, specifically during the Capcom Showcase.

I was excited, then it says it's coming to gamepass so I'm thinking they're not expecting this game to be that big. Same for exoprimal.
It's strange how they placed Embargoes on just the Japanese games, have they done it with the hope over the next 48 hours Japanese gamers rush out to buy an xbox, because if common sense is used then that's not going to happen.
I thought it was Onimusha at first lol. I'm definitely interested...no, im excited.😀😁. I didn't think Capcom had any other game to announce outside of their own showcase so this surprised me some.
A bit too colorful for my taste.
@UltimateOtaku91 They probably do it because they can and they’re being petty. No other reason. It’s not gonna change minds either way.
@-Sigma- also first thought it could be Onimusha, though slightly relieved that the game is its own thing. I prefer Onimusha slightly more grounded (like 1-3, not Dawn of Dreams).
Did anyone else think this was a new Onimusha?
Maybe one day...
Looks interesting, I'll have to wait to see more but capcom doesn't disappoint these days so I'm optimistic.
It looks like Nioh and hells paradise had a baby.
Anyway,it looks interesting. I like the visuals and the camera work.
Going to check it out on Gamepass when it drops, looks decent if not groundbreaking.
This actually looked like trash. Definitely felt out of place of what Capcom does.
@Shepherd_Tallon I don't know why, I thought it was a Genji game, PS2 and PS3 games published by Sony!!
man... remember Onimusha 3 intro?
I don't know. This one gives me Okami feels. I think it will look beautiful, but it will not have mass appeal and will tank on sales.
I was confused. They could have rebooted Onimusha there and it would've sold much more. This and that dinosaur game, the non-Dini crisis make me think that capcom god might not be that godly but just a bit lucky with some of their teams delivering great work. Decision making still seems poor.
I just want to see what Pragmata is about
@CthulhuFhtagn I do!
I remember thinking the intro to the first game would never be beaten.
Then my cousin got the third game and that intro just blew us away.
Capcom did such epic intros to most of their games back then.
This was probably the biggest surprise of the showcase for me. Looks intriguing at worst and awesome at best.
I’m interested
Looks cool.more games is welcome.now where is onimusha capcom.word up son
Looks interesting, but I would still prefer Capcom give us info on that Pragmata game or bring back a classic series.
I didn't watch the Xbox showcase but hearing of a brand new action-adventure (presumably) from Capcom is a good surprise.
Gives me vibes of Okami (only more 'realistic') which is good.
I'm definitely interested.
Reminds me of okami somehow, but with people rather than animal goddes 😃
Somehow reminds me a little of Okami. Looking forward to this
So Onimusha style enemies mixed with Okami and shrine priestess exorcism dance moves...pass. I hope it does well so they feel more confident and remake Onimusha. They should really survey their fan base for remake requests like they did with the RE series.
TBH anything from modern capcom is worth our atention. It's bang after bang and they don't miss a beat in years. Since Ashura's Wrath or RE5 and 6 maybe.
This was interesting
Capcom rocking it yet again
Out of all the game shows I watched, this is probably the game I'm most hyped for now. Hoping to get a further look with the capcom show tonight.
The art style is stunning and the combat looked fluid and fun, can't wait to learn more!
This looks very pretty but I'm going to wait to find out what kind of game it actually is before getting hyped.
Looks interesting and capcom are awesome. I didn't actually realise during the show that this is day 1 gamepass. What a get for that service
Capcom just confirmed it's coming to PS5 during their showcase
One down three to go.
Also this is looking more like one of their AA games rather than a full AAA experience we usually get from them.
WOW GUYS WHAT A SURPRISE!!!
But really, this was the game that I liked the most from yesterdays showcase and I will be glad to pay full price for it.
@UltimateOtaku91 My guess is the other three will by the end of this week.
@MidnightDragonDX could be as early as tomorrow night.
this 48 hour embargo is the biggest nonsense. but hey Sony are the bad guys here while MS is the shining white knight who just wants to protect us from the Evil Sony.
@UltimateOtaku91 agreed but this one looks like the most exciting and innovative in a while.
When can we expect this game to release? Any word from Capcom, my stream kept freezing up when it was shown
@AsterZero @playstation1995 @Nem @CthulhuFhtagn @Shepherd_Tallon @tameshiyaku @-Sigma-
I've never played any of the Onimusha games before, but I also thought it was Onimusha at first glance.
That said, I am very happy it's a brand new original IP, we need more of those and less sequels/prequels/remakes imo.
@KidRyan you should play the first onimusha on ps4.its available on psn.onimusha remastered.its a good game.word up son
@playstation1995 I think I may already own the PS4 remaster, maybe one day.
@AsterZero I could see Capcom remastering/remaking the other 3 games over time during anniversary milestones.
