We thought Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown made a great first impression with its debut trailer, but it attracted a widely negative response from most. Well, however you feel about it, the game has just received a more in-depth look at actual gameplay, and if you ask us, it's looking very promising.
Playing as Sargon, you explore a "semi-open", side-scrolling world, with an even split on acrobatic platforming and fast-paced combat. The series' signature time-bending abilities make a return as well, changing the landscape around you and also aiding you in fights.
It looks super tight and responsive across the board โ we're pretty excited to get our hands on this. Fortunately, it's not that far away, launching on PS5 and PS4 on 18th January 2024. What do you make of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown? Tell us in the comments section below.

I still think this looks pretty damn good. Some neat game mechanics going on.
I think it could be a gem! Not a hidden gem. But, it looks like it could be a ton of fun. Havenโt played a side scroller since I played Odin Sphere earlier this year!
This game gives a very Hades feel, and Strider too. I think it will be a hit when people plays it. The combat system is awesome!
I don't understand the negativity. The game looks fun. I didn't like the music used for the reveal trailer, but that doesn't affect the game.
It's been a while but I'm actually looking forward to a Ubisoft game
Looks a lot better with this video I'll admit. I don't mind the change for the character as long as he looks badass and he does
This timewarping mechanic seems to enable a versatile gameplay. I love Metroid Dread, so this is the right game for me. Ubi says that it will run on all platforms with a targeted 60 fps, so I will play it on Switch.
Looks like a mobile game. Not the new PoP I was hoping for.
The funny thing that the announcement trailer did more damage then good this look really nice and sounds good. ๐๐
Have seen people hating on the game overall, have seen people hating on the MC design.
They are crazy, MC looks fine and game looks fun. Big companies should have big projects and small projects that not take an eternity to finish and this one looks like a great time.
@GymratAmarillo I don't hate the MC's design, but I do hate that his name is Sargon.
This looks awesome. Sort of seems like they took some Metroid Dread ideas, which is an absolutely amazing game. I hope this turns out well, because I'm all in if it's good.
No complaints here, I'm looking forward to playing it on my birthday! (Jan 18)
