Update: The July 2023 game lineup for PS Plus Essential has now been announced by Sony on the PlayStation Blog, confirming the PS5, PS4 titles leaked on Dealabs are indeed correct. From Tuesday, 4th July 2023, active members gain access to:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Alan Wake Remastered (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Endling: Extinction is Forever (PS5, PS4)
Original story: Sony is set to confirm the lineup of PS Plus Essential games later today for July 2023, but reliable leaker billbil-kun has beaten the company to the punch. Posted on Dealabs, the PS5, PS4 titles heading your way next month are:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Alan Wake Remastered (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Endling: Extinction is Forever (PS5, PS4)
The three PS5, PS4 games will be available to download and play from Tuesday, 4th July 2023. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is probably your main headlining title here, but Alan Wake Remastered is just as good. It offers the perfect opportunity to jump into the series before Alan Wake II arrives in October. For your indie offering, Endling: Extinction Is Forever offers its perspective on the destruction caused by human nature.

Alan wake is good. Back in the day I bought 360 for it. It's time to replay it
Thank you breaking.
Not bad. May give Alan wake a go. Will probably be one of those games better left to my memory though.
I don't think I'll ever play another Call of Duty ever again, I was over it about a decade ago and I just can't do it anymore.
The other two games seem pretty good though 👍
Still dont understand why they didnt include American Nightmare
Alan Wake Remastered is ok. I love the original, but the remaster didn’t really do the game any favors in modernizing the dated mechanics of the title. The story is still wonderful, but it could’ve used more TLC. I hope more people experience the game, regardless of my quibbles.
Meanwhile, Cold War launched as one of the most barebones CoD titles of all time. Not a fan of that.
Endling looks genuinely intriguing though.
All in all, even if I sound like I’m complaining, this really is a solid set of titles for PS+ next month.
Been years since I have played a COD game and have no inclination to pick one up now.
Never played Alan Wake so will likely give that a go. Same with Endling, looks quite interesting.
Never got around to Alan Wake, so good month for me.
Will try Alan, can't be bothered with call of duty anymore. Is this one worth playing at all?
If it's true, very very good lineup!!
A decent line up can't grumble anybody who moans about this service needs to compare it to games with gold it's pretty amazing compared to that
Cheers for Alan Wake, I was hoping that'd be coming sooner or later since the sequel's releasing soon. I guess I'll see what the series is all about.
Might give Endling a try as well. Good month.
Great month! Endling and Alan Wake are both on my wishlist! =D
If true it's fantastic :
Blops cold war campaign is pretty good if you're a CoD campaign enjoyer
Cool. Have had Alan Wake on the watchlist for a deep sale. And I’d never heard of that Endling game but after watching the trailer I’m curious.
As for COD, it’s crazy that Activision is still making deals with PlayStation. 😅 Perhaps this agreement was in existence long before Sony started its campaign against the acquisition?
That's a very strong month!
I tried playing Alan wake again recently, even with the remaster it really hasn't held up well. the controls are still as bad as they were.. haha
Already beat that CoD. Played the original Alan Wake and dlc so would be good to revisit after such a long time before the sequel. Hopefully this version has the dlc too. Never heard of the third game before but doesn't interest.
Was close to getting Alan Wake many times. This is great. The other I might load and try for a bit.
Wow. PS+ (Essential) continued to pee in Games with Gold's cereal.
Skipped that COD but may do the story at some point. Have alan wake but will trade in my physical. Endling has been on my radar so im happy overall
Only picked up Alan wake last month for £9.99 and started it finally a few days ago. That's a bummer 😂
Sounds like a good month to me! Alan Wake is on my wish list; CoD appears to have a decent single player campaign, so I’m happy with that. The indie Endling game, from the cursory Googling I’ve done also appears to be good. So I’m going to say this is a win for me 😊
Typical, I only bought Alan Wake Remastered fortnight ago.
That's pretty good. Alan Wake has been on my wishlist for a while (and I've only not bought it because I lacked time to play it) and I've always enjoyed CoD campaigns but I don't play them enough to justify a purchase.
Yay! I have been meaning to get to Alan Wake!
Yeah that's alright with me. I will probably play both of the games that aren't CoD at some point.
@Jswift56 the campaign is pretty mediocre to me personally, but the zombies mode is pretty good. I have over 700 hours in zombies alone.
Isn't Cold War... not safe to play online at all?
Its a cool month.more video games to add to my library.word up son
@Shadowmooneh it got a 10GB patch the other day
I already wished Alan Wake would be included soon. Alan Wake 2 looks very interesting but I haven't played the first game yet.
Delighted with COD - wanted to play cold war for ages.
Just finished Alan Wake though and didn't get on with it at all. It feels so dated and i think relies on nostalgia of those who played it on release. I still have high hopes for the second game though
Good month even if i own Alan Wake already.
@Darude84 If you haven't played Control yet i highly recommend you play it after AW as its in the same universe and ties in into it.
Just looked at the Alan Wake Remastered review, and the comments section is something else....😂
@WallyWest Thanks! I played it and didn't enjoy it too much, but might give it another try after AW.
What a great month! I love it when they put up a game on PS+ that has a sequel incoming. That being said, I LOVED Alan Wake's story and environment, but really, really did not dig the combat. I'm hoping that's something they improved on for the sequel.
It's another good month. Even though I've already got Cold War. Hopefully will boosts the multiplayer of Cold War. It's still active but couldn't hurt to get more ppl. It's far more enjoyable than MW2. Will be skipping this year's release. Can get rid of my physical copy of Alan Wake.
Unless, call of duty games start offering more offline bots i will avoid them, i know i'm in the minority but a max of 6v6 sucks.
This is why myself and my friend still play Modern Warfare remastered. 8v8 with our bots regular and AI Veteran, nice.
Alan Wake, great, looking forward to this.
Buzzing my manb👀bies off for Alan Wake remastered. Been on my wishlist for some time now but deliberately didn't buy it for this reason. With AW2 just around the corner I had a good feeling they'd put the first one on Plus. Same happened with Grid Legends. This year I think is the happiest I've been with Plus for a long time
Is Cold War the one without a single player campaign?
@Stevemalkpus No, that's Blops 4.
I own all of them (well, AW on Series X) but acknowledge that it’s a good month.
Some great games to add to the library!!
@Dan12836666 I'm grumbling: I'm not impressed. Not really anything I'm interested in here, but I have Diablo to get through, so no skin off my teeth!
I'll be delighted if Alan Wake is true!
Damn! I might play all three!
Excited for Alan Wake.
Goes and reads Pushsquare review.
Not so excited. 6/10 and reads like lower than that
This is pretty good, I don't think I played cod black op back then, and I played alan wake on xbox 360 but never finished it, I plan to buy the remaster if it's on sale so it's nice I can play it on psplus
This is the first time I heard endling extinction is forever, so I don't know about this one.
Very gd month no complaints from me
Good month. Cold War will be fun if the bot gameplay is decent in local multiplayer.
This seems to be a decent month, to my surprise. Alan Wake Remastered alone would be worth a go, and I'd been meaning to try this entry of CoD but didn't want to put money down on it.
nice... been thinking of hitting up Alan Wake
I will resub if it's Alan Wake remastered
If this holds out to be true I’m gonna say this is one of the best months (for me personally at least) in a VERY long time and maybe ever!
I got Alan Wake free from the Epic Games launcher a few years back.
@Gamer_Guy
Alan Wake is a really good game, sure action parts can feel little out of date but it is a game that came 2010 at first.
But you should really try it.
Hmmm if true, Alan Wake I'll grab with all my fingers. And that Extinctlisomething...
CoD - no thanx. As same as I said to NBA this month...
Awesome month, already own cod and AW, but Endling looks fantastic.
People should really give this COD a shot, I know that its the franchise people think (unfairly) its cool to ***** on, but most of the games are decent and Cold War specifically is REALLY GOOD.
Campaign is short, less than 6 hours, but super cool and unique, and zombies mode is surprisingly fun. Yall should really give this one a shot.
I knew waiting for Alan Wake Remastered was the right call, even as I watched sales go by. I was expecting it this summer.
Played it partway through on the PC until I got stuck and got sidetracked on something else before I got un-stuck. I wasn't so far in that starting over will be a problem.
If true, excellent month!
Will play all 3 of them after finishing Far Cry 6
Wow these are terrible games. Truly garbage
I already have Alan Wake on disc, but a digital copy is welcome. Mabey, I'll give COD a try if it has zombies and gyro aiming support. Does anyone know if it has both of those? I haven't played a COD game in years...
Still having a blast with Rogue Legacy 2. Who knew they have a customized NG+ with new everything dark souls style.
Looking forward to some flashlight led investigations.
@get2sammyb "That's a very strong month!"
containing a game we couldn't even be bothered to review. 🤷♂️
https://www.pushsquare.com/games/ps4/endling_extinction_is_forever/reviews
@rjejr We can't review everything!
I'll give Endling a try. The rest don't interest me, but even if they did, I doubt I'd have the time to play them.
I just bought Alan Wake, lol. Oh well I'm always glad to support Remedy.
@Kanji-Tatsumi I know that feel!
Endling looks like a breath of fresh air, the half-baked remaster and the other bit of garbage are less appealing for sure
I have had my eyes on Alan Wake for a while now. Glad I passed on it in a recent sale.
I believed all the hype and bad press about Cold war when it released but after getting it on special, thought the campaign was great. The character modeled on Robert Redford waa great. MP felt like a best of Black ops 1 & 2.
Oh dope, I was planning on buying Alan Wake as well!
6/10 only because I've heard great things about Alan Wake. I doubt I'll play the other two.
Can't wait to hop into Endling
I’m actually going to plan on playing each of these…Good solid month!!
Probably play the single player campaign in Cold War, for CoD campaign nostalgia's sake (was this the first time they brought back more of a proper single player mode in modern releases?)
Alan Wake I wouldn't mind reliving from time to time, as it's been a long, long time.
A definite 'claim all of those' month, which is a real bonus.
Man, I'm all about having my soul destroyed by Endling. Looks like an amazing game but i'm sure it's a real heartbreaker. I'll try to steel myself while it's part of the package, but I don't mind paying for it if I can't get around to it.
So Yay Alan Wake
@NoCode23 Exactly the same here! I feel like that always happens when I buy an older game. Glad I'm on the right side of it this time!
Do t sleep on COD
Great campaign
Great fun zombies
Multiplay is very Serviceable go LC10 with street sweeper secondary and just run and gun success guaranteed
So the worst Call Of Duty game, ill give that a pass and like may have said, I was over call of duty 10 years ago. Black Ops 3 was probably the last one I played with some friends.
I never got around to Alan Wake but the sequel looks phenomenal and I enjoyed Control.
So ill give it a go for the story. So I know whats happening in the sequel.
Really hoping number 2 incorporates Control into the game in some way.
And the last game. Never heard of it so I'll give it ago
I just finished Black Ops and considered playing Cold War because it is a direct sequel. Also my next up was Alan Wake Remastered because of the sequel coming. I literally couldn't ask for a better month!
Yay! I want Alan Wake and Endling.
Lol dammit just bought Awake Remastered to replay it for the sequel!
Also, ugggh, CoD.
Looking forward to Walan Make.
What waste to put a CoD game for ps+.
Funny, I just finished Alan Wake Remastered yesterday on Series X. Was also my first time with that game and I really enjoyed it.
I own CoD Cold War since launch and played a lot of this on PS5. Make some SSD space ready for this, but it's great. Multiplayer is top notch and the campaign was one of the very best in the series.
I enjoyed Cold War's single player back when PS5 came out, with adaptive triggers and such. I would give it a go if you like that sort of thing.
Don’t care for COD, yay on the other two
I bought Alan Wake last month, but haven’t played it yet. Might start it soon. I’m not interested in COD (I just can’t get the hang of first person shooters), but my son likes Apex and Fortnite so he might play it. I had Endling in my wishlist so at least that’s a W for me!
Great month! I’ve had Endling on my wish list for months and Alan Wake intrigued me but never enough to buy it (never owned a 360 either so it’ll be totally new to me). COD…eh. Maybe I’ll give the campaign a go but I’m not a multiplayer gamer.
@saffeqwe i have the collectors edition for PC with the statue 😁
... Admittedly it was going for £10 massively reduced at the time, but still!
And my PC couldn't even play it when I got it home.
Never played Alan wake. Will be adding this
@get2sammyb No, you can't review everything, but then you shouldn't be able to say it's a "strong month" if it has a game you couldn't get around to reviewing. It's more of an unknown month, no? 🤷♂️
@saffeqwe I originally played Alan Wake on the Xbox 360 about a decade ago so it'll be nice to replay it again on the PS5, I really enjoy remedy games. I'm looking forward to Alan Wake 2 as well as Control 2 lol happy gaming ✌️
