The Yakuza Complete Series was recently released on GOG, offering PC players a DRM-free option, with the entire series packaged together, ranging from Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. It looks Ryu Ga Gotoko Studio (RGG) took out something else, too: the names of former employees that left to form Nagoshi Studio (including series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi and producer Daisuke Sato) as well as entire support studios, such as Lab42 (Yakuza 0, Kiwami) and QLOC (Kiwami 2 through Yakuza 6).
Redditor u/Timo653 took it upon themselves to compare and contrast both the original and updated credits of each game, noting that the GOG credits are significantly shorter with all the removed names. u/Jamhood007 hit the nail on the head, describing the situation as "an extremely rare RGG studios L." u/Exotic-Ad2113, who claims to be a Lab42 employee, describes the removal with admirable mildness:
What do you think of this RGG situation? Sadly, it's not uncommon in the gaming industry and bears calling out when it occurs. Intentional slight or accidental oversight? Let us know in the comments section below.

C'mon RGG, that's not cool and you damn well know it.
Always a shame to see that creators aren't credited, do better Sega 😕
Not a fan of this, seems to be pretty common across Japan. It’s like you cease to exist after you leave.
I will miss Nagoshi’s insanely terrifying plastic face though. Man’s a walking substory.
I love you RGG but that's not cool bro. Not cool.
Looks like Sega taking notes from Konami..
that's pretty sad... when you think about modern day sega, they really don't make much of an impact these days as far as their internal studios are concerned. outside of sonic the hedgehog, they don't have any strong IP in the modern era of gaming with the exception of... yakuza. yes, yakuza is one of the few impactful IP that sega has at its disposal and it is all thanks to the original members of Ryu Ga Gotoku studio. simple as that. where would sega be right now without this franchise and acquiring atlus a few years back? those hit or miss sonic games wouldn't be enough to sustain them, that's for sure.
I heard in Japan the Company is everything and if you dare to leave it you don't exist anymore. Apparently this confirms it.
Removing the names of those no longer part of the studio, that's not an accident. A ****** thing to do, as they each hand a hand in the games creation.
Iirc Marvelous got dragged under the bus for doing this. I hope Sega get the sake treatment.
No Nagoshi, no LAD. No support studios, no games.
What a disrespect! Those names should be in the credits of every version of those games.
Konami did the same thing to Kojima with Metal Gear.
Once the management and lifeblood of the franchise moves on, it ceases to be Yakuza anymore.
Will be interesting to see how Yakuza 8 and other RGG are received compared to their previous ones.
@sop then japan will fit well with the crap nwo we are being forced into.
Japan need to stop doing this crap.
