Armored Core has never been a particularly fashionable franchise, but FromSoftware has never been more popular either. The upcoming Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has commanded significant attention as a result – and, honestly, it looks outstanding in this 12-minute gameplay trailer. We get a glimpse of some combat, traversal, rig customisation, and a few boss fights in this sprawling showcase.
While past entries in the property have been quite low-budget, it’s clear that all the Elden Ring money has enabled the Japanese developer to seriously upgrade the production values here, and we get some gigantic set-piece moments as a result – it looks incredible, with lots happening on the screen, and some uber-nimble controls.

If you want to know more about Armored Core 6, then we have a huge hands on preview live now. You can read that through here.

This looks fantastic! I can't wait to play it!
Looks fantastic. I've been looking for a genuinely good mech game for a couple of years now, even since watching Neon genesis evangelion and gundam. I think even for people who don't really watch that kind of thing, mechs are just cool
@Batesy125s Evangelion is so good! A proper classic.
@LazyLombax Has to be done!
I’m so into the idea of devs with recent success being able to funnel the cash into their passion projects. Come on, do the same for Binary Domain Sega!
I'm still hoping this will turn out to be one of the top games of the year. I can easily envision it. Hopefully in 12 minutes and 8 seconds the hype train will get it's steam.
I’ve never been massively fussed about Mech games but FromSoftware could announce they are releasing a bagged up dog poo and I would be interested.
looks like... armored core through and through. except a lot more grand and polished. looking forward to playing this at some point but i would like to play a bunch of the earlier entries first to build up a better understanding of the IP's history. hopefully it runs well on ps4!
Wow, that's a lot of grey here!!!
But seriously, I'm... not convinced. While I am a fervent admirer of FromSoft, this doesn't make me immediately play it. I'm afraid it looks repetitive in its gameplay and tedium with the micro management of the mechs. But I guess repetitive and tedium could be used to describe Soulsborne games and I love them so, who knows...
@nessisonett I'd give someone else's left nut for a Binary Domain sequel!
@KAIRU absolutely. That and Cowboy bebop are usually the ones that I recommend even non anime fans watch. And maybe death note and steins;gate. All very anime in some ways but the stories and characters are genuinely compelling
Armored core devs made elden ring
Looks really cool I’ll enjoy immersion in that
@Mintie I wish I'd known we could do that before I gave away mine...
