We got the English gameplay reveal of Persona 3 Reload at Anime Expo 2023, dressed in all the trappings of an Xbox exclusive (it's not). This is standard procedure with Atlus of late, and if things play out like normal, we'll get a trailer that mentions PlayStation after the agreed-upon 48-hour marketing window expires. That aside, the game itself looks entirely fantastic, and we also got to hear the reveal of the game's English voice cast, which is all-new in this iteration.
Persona 3 Reload brings the edgy RPG we recall from our edgy teenage years up to snuff with Persona 5 Royal, which we suppose is the point after all. We haven't entirely stopped sulking over the fact that many of the additions of the FES and Portable iterations of the game didn't make the Reload cut (including the playable female protagonist), but as adults now, we're doing what we can to put a brave face on things (while weeping on the inside).

What do you think of Persona 3 Reload's English showing? Will you be playing this reloaded take on Persona 3 when it launches on PS5 and PS4 in early 2024, despite what the marketing says? Let us know in the comments section down below.

Those voices are confusing me. They seem to almost be doing impressions of the original cast, which are fooling me to the point that if you told me it wasn’t a new cast I’d probably believe you. Granted, it’s been a year or two since I’ve last played the original!
Since XBox got the marketing deal, their logo will be all over it.
@MidnightDragonDX Well,I don't really see any wring eith that, since everybody is doing it one way or another.
We all know it's going to sell more on playstaion and PC than on xbox anyway.
This is gas. It is now my most anticipated game for next year.
That being said, I think it’s more NA focused for XBox since the Japanese trailers usually show all platforms.
Someone over at Atlus / Xbox PR are making serious efforts to ensure that only 1 platform is mentioned in all these trailers. Usually other publishers mention all platforms once the game has been announced ( think MGS, Resident Evil, Street Fighter which have Sony marketing deals).
This kind of lopsided advertising goes against Sega/Atlus's PR Talk lately which has been all about releasing games on multiple platforms and increasing brand awareness of their franchises.
This is actually quite simple (before anyone overreacts to it) MS is paying SEGA for many things and one of those things is to have the reveal of the english voices, that's why they only show xbox. They did exactly the same with the announcement trailers of this year and last year PERSONA work.
I'm sure many people play with the english dub but most people who play these games WANT the original japanese voices so basically MS is paying for another weird thing after paying for "n" days of embargo. One would think at this point they could have just paid for the exclusive but either SEGA or MS have the number to know that wasn't a good deal.
I've played through Persona 3 like 4 different times on various consoles. Looks like I'm going to be playing through it again.
@GymratAmarillo
I have never played a persona game with the Japanese voices as the English dub is actually very good. I don't think I'm in the minority on this one either.
Game will be on PlayStation systems in Japan, but an XBox console exclusive in the West
It's a marketing deal can't be mad about it. Sony did this with call of duty up until the Microsoft acquisition. Hopefully it's worth it for SEGA to alienate their largest fan base.
@ATaco could be but ... big companies only make things when high demand is present and one of the biggest criticisms for Persona 5 at release was it not having the original japanese voices like most japanese games did at the time (when I said "these games" I was talking about japanese games in general), they added them some time after that as a dlc.
It has been forever since the last time I played Persona 4 on golden on the vita or Persona 3 on psp so I could be wrong but as far as I remember neither of those two had the japanese voices officially included in the west so that's maybe why you never played with them ... because you didn't have a choice. Persona 4 golden on PC had them but that was after what happened with Persona 5 so it was pretty obvious.
@BeerIsAwesome The only thing missing from FES is the anwser.
All the Portable stuff besides FEMC and her route, will be there.
Basically nothing of importance was lost. I don't know why you think they would waste their time on DLC, when Persona 6 would be coming out around the following year or two.
@rachetmarvel ofc all games sell more on Playstation, and that one is on Gamepass so very few will buy it on xbox
I originally was going to buy persona 3 in January as I didn't finish my PS3 digital copy but I found out it was portable and not FES bit frustrated they didn't do an ultimate version for this remake but I'm still pumped.
Well all anyone has to do is search for it online and the Playstation version pops up, so anyone going to buy this thinking it's xbox exclusive will soon find out otherwise. This marketing of theirs isn't making anyone jump consoles.
FES and portable features will be added to a Royal version. Atlus has stung me too many times over the years, I will be waiting a while before buying this one.
Looking forward to playing when it launches. I hadn’t touched a Persona game until last year and has now become one of my favourite franchises.
@DragonBl not at all, like P5T this will release worldwide on all platforms.
You see that Shinji!?
Man this looks really good. Sorry anything releasing around this one you will have to wait!
@Fishnpeas My thoughts exactly! This is not worth buying as we know Atlus will definitely release an updated version of this game containing the missing FES + FeMC content a year or two after this release... All part of their strategy to make fans splurge their hard-earned cash twice or more, just like they did to great effect with the 3 versions of Persona 5...
@dimi Contrary to popular belief people do actually buy the games on game pass you know
The AX panel was great. You got to see the voice actors.
@AsterZero Sorry for answering now, but I don't want your comment to stay ignored.
Yeah it will most likely come to Western PS later from what my friends said, which is great... and should be expected.
@Feena Yeah it seems like it it will, should be expected
