Highly anticipated PSVR2 tactical shooter sequel Firewall Ultra will Oscar Mike its way onto Sonyโs new-gen system from 24th August, with pre-orders now live on the PS Store. The standard edition of the game will retail for $39.99, while its Digital Deluxe Edition will cost $59.99. The latter includes early access to four additional in-game Contractors with outfits for all of them, as well as four weapon camos and one Operation Pass. All pre-orders will also come with a Legendary weapon: the Reaper X75.

We were lucky enough to go hands-on with this game earlier in the year, and came away pretty impressed with the experience. The original Firewall Zero Hour was an extremely well-supported Rainbow Six-style rounds-based tactical shooter, and its sequel is bringing that flavour of first-person shooting back, but with greater fidelity and a few key refinements โ like multi-round battles and a social hub lobby system.
First Contact Entertainment is treating this like a live service, and promising more free and premium updates post-launch. For now, though, you can get a taste of the gameplay courtesy of the trailer embedded above.

So is this counted as one of the 12 live service titles?
Met so many cool folks playing the first, and the game was great too. Hope this follows suit. I've been waiting for this one for a while.
@Americansamurai1 Honestly, not sure. Maybe?
Really tempted to get this, does look good. Think I'll wait for reviews though. Wondering how it will play with a gunstock.
Are Pavlov and Firewall similar style first person VR shooters?
@get2sammyb I think if this is include we can pretty much confirm every live service titles just by job listing.
@Americansamurai1 Only Sony can really answer that but personally it should be counted. If it's getting a battle pass and content updates then it's a live service to me.
@BusyOlf From what I've seen of both games, Pavlov is more CoD in style while Firewall is more Rainbow Six. If that makes sense.
Hype locked in, can't wait for this one
@Americansamurai1 Apparently it is one of the 12 and so was MLB The Show.
@MrMagic this is what I came up with so far
1. Firewall ultra
2.mlb
3. Helldivers2
3.savage game mobile game
4. Factions 2
5. Horizon multiplayer
6.ghost legends 2
7.rumores twisted metal
8.concord
9 fairgames
10. Media molecules live service title
11. London studio title
12.?
@Americansamurai1 I think number 12 is Marathon.
@AdamNovice What's Pavlov?
@MrMagic it could be, not really sure if they count Bungie since it's separate from PlayStation studios.
@pharos_haven It's a VR military online shooter.
@pharos_haven Guy with a dog.
@MFTWrecks ๐๐๐... good one!
I'm hyped as heck as I loved the first. I'm concerned about this new video, though. It looks like the frame rate is all over the place which does not bode well in VR. Hopefully it's a crappy feed or recording.
@pharos_haven a fantastic multiplayer military shooter. It doesn't have a single player campaign but it has a ton of crossplay multiplayer modes that are all a blast (maybe not zombie mode). It was the surprise hit from the PSVR2 launch. It's highly interactive and may require a video or two of tips and tricks to get fully prepared. The quality of the visuals/sound/gameplay is shockingly good, IMO. 9/10 if looking for multi shooter with high social connection and demanding/realistic gun play.
@hookedWORM17 they really improved the sound lately too, it was poor before the pc xplay patch (my own footsteps sounded like someone running behind me etc).
Some great quality of life upgrades added, just need (lots) more maps now!
@maybemaybemaybe I am still shocked at the quality of the vr experience and only $14.99?! Yes...more, please!
@hookedWORM17 prime example of a game those with no knowledge of VR IPs sleep on. A mate of mine tried the VR with GT7 and Pavlov (not even RE8) and immediately understood it was good value just for the experience and replay ability of those 2 titles alone
Hope this is good...will be buying unless it ends up getting abysmal reviews
@TrickyDicky99 Source: Trust me bro.
@TrickyDicky99 Then maybe those anonymous developers should have made better games.
@TrickyDicky99 You're talking about VR community being toxic when every single time you comment on an article that has anything to do with VR you repeatedly bash Sony and PSVR2?
Is irony really that lost on you?
As if there were any chance for you to buy a PSVR2. You've done nothing but bash it from Day 0.
