Tomorrow signals the monthly PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium refresh, this time bringing 18 new PS5, PS4 titles to Sony's subscription service. However, 10 different games will be going the other way and will no longer be playable from tomorrow morning. Because of the way the two higher tiers work, you must buy the games off the PS Store if you want to continue playing.
The games leaving PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium on Tuesday, 18th July 2023 are:
- Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell
- Stray
- Rogue Stormers
- Marvel's Avengers
- BioShock Remastered
- BioShock 2 Remastered
- BioShock Infinite Remastered
- Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
- Fluster Cluck
- Raiden V: Director's Cut
Realistically, you're probably not going to have enough time to start and finish most of these PS5, PS4 games before tomorrow's deadline. You've got a chance with Stray, but besides that, these are lengthier titles that require a longer commitment to complete. If you're already halfway through a playthrough, maybe dedicate this evening to finishing it.
Are you going to miss many of these titles? Take a look at the July 2023 PS Plus Extra, Premium game refresh to see what's replacing them and then say goodbye in the comments below.

I'm glad I bought Stray now. It was a way to get Stray at launch, but now it's gone. This is why I don't like these services.
The Bioshock collection is usually on sale for about £5 for anyone worried about missing out on it.
Also not sure I'd class Avengers as "quality".
@KaijuKaiser
I did everything apart from the speedrun, just couldn’t be bothered to play it again after the initial run
Bioshock Collection goes on sale for under £10 regularly for those that have missed out.
Great FPS collection and for the price of a medium pizza at Dominos.
For a lot of these, the pattern will probably be few months on the store, with a couple of ever larger sale discounts, then dumped on Plus Essential. Which is not too bad, as at least you know they don't get rotated out of that.
Shame stray is leaving. Might buy it in hope a sequel is made and ro replay 😁
I would expect Stray to be on sale later this week
I wonder how long Avengers will remain on Gamepass considering its being delisted soon.
It would be nice if Sony bothered to email a month in advance, if they have it's not an email I've seen.
@Rob3008 some still have bioshock collection ps4 from januari 2020.
When it was free with sims 4 and firewall zero hour.
Stray being removed gave me the kick I needed to plat it on both PS4 and PS5 versions.
The pain when I got 2hours 23 seconds on stray for speedrun 2 hour trophy will forever haunt me.
The most relevant ones I already have so no loss here for me
Finally! Can't wait for SW5!
pressuring people to play games on sony's watch, not your own, is always a bad business model. this is why the standard ps+ essentials program is still the best... people have backlogs and will get to their games at a time that is right for them... be it months or years laters. rotating libraries within a servive you are paying for only appeals to those who dabble with games and have no intention of actually completing them.
Maybe I missed it in an article but if you have it downloaded it won’t play? Or just can’t download beyond tomorrow? Guess it does say you must buy games to continue playing. Darn
So close to finishing Stray ugh
@Gamer_Guy I think they're doing it in reverse, since most of those games, including: all three of the Bioshock remasters, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, have already been offered on PS plus Essential.
@MasterEMFG Unless I’m mistaken if you have it downloaded & then disconnect from the internet before it gets taken off, you might still be able to play it for up to 7 days.
PS Extra requires you to log in once a week to validate your membership.
This might not be the case anymore, but give it a shot.
Would love to know if that would work.
@IslandLogic haha you're quite right, in fact. I hadn't even realised
Just finished Stray last week and really liked it. Just like the equally great Kena: Bridge of Spirits I probably wouldn’t have played it without PS Plus Extra. Love how many games these services just make you try.
Psplus essential is way better than this since we can keep the game forever in the ps library.
Everyone and their mother (for reals) should play stray. It’s a great break before jumping into another 50 hours+ game.
@MasterEMFG to answer your question:
"Users can play these games for as long as they are a part of the catalog, as members lose access once they leave PS Plus. Sony refreshes the collection every month, as some games join PS Plus while others leave the service."
so no for ps+ extra and premium games.
only with ps+ essentials are you allowed to keep the game in your downloads list "forever" (as long as you are subscribed to ps+).
@guacguacboo Stray was ok...ish. I mean, it looks and sounds cool but it was kinda boring. Yes, ok, the story... but gameplay was meh
I have most of these games already, so it's not a big deal they're leaving PS Plus extra. With Diablo 4 taking up most of my gaming time, I wasn't able to get the Platinum for the PS4 version of Stray in time. Oh well, I guess I'll go back to the PS5 version.
@Fight_Teza_Fight thanks for the idea. Unfortunately have to share the PS with family so doubt I’ll be able to stay offline but maybe!
@TheDudeElDuderino that’s fair but that’s what they were going for. It’s just a chill game that I need once in a while. Journey filled the same void. IMO of course.
Just finished up the Stray platinum today. 1hr 51min playthrough then the sleeping for an hour trophy sealed it.
@guacguacboo I get it, I need those games as well, but for me Stray's "chill" was overshadowed by its "annoyingly dull" for subjectively long stretches.
I recently played "Far: Changing Tides" and that one scratched that, to lesser extent Journey and to larger extent Limbo/Inside itch while having interesting gameplay mechanics.
Played through stray and I really can't believe it got game of the year. Then again I didn't think much of journey when that game was being praised. Guess I'm just not really into the artsy fartsy games but at least this one had a bit of gameplay to go with it.
finished stray tonight. So glad I put the hours in over the last few days. Gem of a game. I will still buy the physical just to grab the trophies and few wee bits I missed
@ATaco Each to their own. I really enjoyed it and it's not my normal type of game at all. I'm glad there is variety even if it means some of it isn't to my taste. We need a mix of games to cover all bases. You're correct though it did have some gameplay elements to it.
@KaijuKaiser No way I'm getting that trophy lol. Really enjoyed the game though
@Discol76
I mean yeah, I'm not saying it shouldn't exist or something. Just saying it's not for me and while I can't understand why it won game of the year (probably because cat is cute), I don't mind it exists and that people enjoyed it.
I tried Stray yesterday and it still let me play it. What happened?
