Hot on the heels of PS5, PS4 ports for High on Life, it appears indie game Somerville will also be making the jump to PlayStation in the near future. Trophy listing site Exophase has picked up a set of PS4 Trophies for the 2.5D adventure game, essentially confirming ports are planned by developer Jumpship.
Viewable through here, the Trophy list is the exact same as the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC versions, albeit with a Platinum Trophy. High on Life from Squanch Games first had its Trophy lists spotted and was then released a day later, but it's not clear whether Somerville's turnaround will be as quick. Either way, an announcement seems very likely for the near future.
The game was first released in November 2022 to somewhat positive reviews, garnering a Metacritic rating of 71. Our sister site Pure Xbox handed the game a 6/10 and concluded: "Somerville is a super-stylish slice of sci-fi that nails its aesthetic and provides a solid narrative that comes to a pleasingly surreal and fantastical end. However, all of this good stuff is bogged down by dull gameplay, performance issues and the addition of a third dimension that, while certainly very cool to look at, leads to awkwardness as you attempt to solve puzzles and interact with environments."

Wasn’t for me this one
Very average game imho.
Stunning visuals, wonderful soundtrack and soundscape with a semi-interesting story. But crucially the gameplay was somewhere between basic AF and frustrating at times. Missed the mark imho.
Ultimately pretty forgettable, though some of the music is still on my playlist. 🔥
I personally really liked this game when I played it on Xbox Series X. Recommended!
@LiamCroft always good to hear someone did. Different horses, different courses and all that.
Worth the 1€ I paid for Game Pass at least! It had some good things going for it, but Inside just lifted the bar so high for me with these type of games that I always compare every new entry to it on some level. Somerville also had some rough technical hiccups at launch.
I preferred him when he was The Communards. This game is dull.
How can it be xbox and PC exclusive theres no such thing its either exclusive to xbox or PC if its on both its not exclusive
@RIGGOR_MORTIS “Xbox Ecosystem.”
PlayStation gets this and high on life and Xbox gets Stray, doesn’t seem fair. 😐
@riceNpea Xbox is shouting "don't leave me this way".
I think Liam missed a great subtitle there.
Before anyone says, it isn't leaving Xbox.
Isn't Sommerville made by the studio behind Limbo & Inside? Might wait and see with this one as I wasn't a big fan of Inside, and from my understanding; Sommerville & Inside are pretty similar from what I remember seeing a while back.
@JustPlainLoco Nah, it's a few developers who left Playdead to form their own studio.
@KaijuKaiser likely a combination of it all
@BeerIsAwesome They also tell when a game's exclusivity ends as well. We didn't even know games like this or High On Life was coming.
shocker timed exclusive is no longer exclusive
blimey who saw that coming
@JustPlainLoco It's all a bit confusing with several new studios using Limbo and Inside in their marketing to, understandably, give their new games and new studios a leg-up. But in short after Limbo and Inside some of the key staff at developer Playdead split:
Somerville was made by a new UK studio (Jumpship) co-founded by the Producer of Limo and Inside who was also one of the two co-founders of Playdead, Dino Patti; and film animator Chris Olsen who was also the writer of Heavenly Sword. Chris directed the game which was a new role for him.
Cocoon is being made by a new studio (Geometric Interactive) co-founded by Lead Gameplay designer for Limbo and Inside Jeppe Carlsen; and Audio programmer of Inside Jakob Schmid.
Arnt Jensen who was the creator and director of both Limbo and Inside and the other co-founder of Playdead is still there with much of the staff. However their 3rd game, first teased in 2017, seems to have disappeared off the radar for now, the last we heard about it was a deal with Epic games to publish it way back in 2020.
Confused?
Oh nice, one of the all time classics on par with Inside, logically because of the creators...
Thought this was an actual MS exclusive for once but yay. Played it for free on Gamepass, can buy it now on PS.
Now if only Hi Fi Rush jumped onboard as well...
Another average title designed mainly to entertain for a couple of hours on a sub based system. I'll keep my money for sth more worthwhile
