CD Projekt RED has today unleashed patch 4.04 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt across both PS5 and PS4 consoles. This update is designed to fix a number of minor issues relating to side quests, and on PS5 more specifically, improves the graphical mode that utilises ray tracing. The RPG should be more stable after loading a save with the ray tracing mode enables, and the load screens shouldn't stutter either.
Elsewhere, side quests like A Towerful of Mice, Cabaret, The Last Wish and Wandering in the Dark, and Get Junior have all been updated to either run better or had bugs removed from them. Update 4.04 also adds an HDR calibration option and ensures collision with grass works properly. You can check out the full list of patch notes below.

Great news, I was holding off from playing Gwent without ray tracing.
Applying oils from the radial is pretty great, that got very annoying on death march having to navigate the menus every 30 seconds during a monster showdown to apply oil
What's the thinking behind breaking down entire patch notes for an upgraded version of a 8 year old game, but y'all don't look at patches for a big seller like Diablo 4 that released 2 months-ish ago (and is waaay more controversial based on your other article on said patch)?
Is the engagement on Witcher 3 articles that much higher?
Still a Witcher 3 virgin but I am ready to go as its been installed since the remaster first came out. Didn't pay the full price for it of course, tried to be clever and got the PS4 goty complete edition for around £7 on sale when the remaster was first announced. Damn you backlog
Enjoy @Beerheadgamer82 😁
I put over 100 hours into a second replay since the initial PS5 update, and a lot of that may have been photo mode too 😆 It's a great game, and it's now as stunning looking as anything else out there today, amazing.
When the weather turns I'll be back on it to finish off my second play through, and I can't wait ⚔️🐺
@Ravix yh I've heard it can be a big time consumer and the expansion is almost a full size game within itself. Also heard that the platinum can be quite challenging and a few easy to miss missables. If really enjoying it when get round to it, the time consuming part of it all will become irrelevant
Exactly @Beerheadgamer82 I don't go for platinums, but I'll definitely put hours into a game simply if I'm enjoying it, with time set aside purely for taking it all in and absorbing everything properly. And then it's not time I've noticed passing anyway 😁 I can't imagine putting anywhere near that time into a game if I wasn't enjoying it
@Ravix @Beerheadgamer82 I would say other then beating death march difficulty the only Painful trophy is the one where you have to Collect all of the gwent cards with some of them being missable.
@Beerheadgamer82 I haven't got the platinum only because I don't like difficult-related trophies in massive RPGs like this one. Even so, it's a amazing game, for me the very best of the PS4 generation and the PS5 update make it looks and play like a curren-gen one. I finished it 2 times on PS4 and I'm playng it again on PS5. Oh, and the DLCs are ESSENTIAL. Go for it!!
@Czar_Khastik I know it's a joke but is there ray tracing in the mini game 🤔
@Drago201 Good question and to be fair, it would look really slick. Who knows, maybe Digital Foundry is reading this comment section so they make a video about it.
