Indie Souls-like Lies of P has gone gold ahead of its planned 19th September 2023 release date, meaning work on the 1.0 version of the game is complete. Confirming the news on Twitter, Round8 Studio said: "It is our genuine pleasure to announce that Lies of P has gone gold. Truly, we cannot wait for your arrival in Krat on September 19." It will release for PS5 and PS4 on the aforementioned date, but a Deluxe Edition grants three days of early access.
Given the launch is still more than a month away, it's likely the developer will now get to work on a day one patch to get rid of any lingering issues or bugs in time for release. At the time of writing, there's no Lies of P DLC announced, but post-launch expansions are still a possibility should the team wish to create more content for Pinocchio and friends.
If you're interested, there's still a Lies of P PS5, PS4 demo you can download and try off the PS Store. Are you looking forward to this one? Let us know in the comments below.

Hope it does well but with Starfield, MK1 and BG3's PS5 release plus Cyberpunk's DLC i can't see it doing well.
@DennisReynolds I really want this and Lords of the Fallen to succeed. I love soulsborne games to death, but the genre has really been dominated by their creators, FromSoft. And to be honest, they have managed to make better games with (almost) every successive game.
But we need more competition in the genre. Steelrising didn't cut it for me, except on the design part. And The Surge 2 was good, but got repetitive after a while. While I really like a lot of things in Mortal Shell, there was something missing in the way the movement felt.
So hopefully this and LotF will stir up things a bit, before the Elden Ring DLC...
This will be my Game of the Year, I reckon.
I wasn’t blown away by the demo so can’t see it tearing me away from Baldurs Gate or Starfield in September. Might give it a go further down the line if it reviews well though.
Lies of phil spencer going for the gold but only getting the silver.yeah lies of p is going to be a good game.word up son
Enjoyed the demo, but combat was a bit clunky. This will probably be a holiday sale purchase for me, unfortunately. I’ll be too busy with…
🔥🔥🔥ARMORED CORE 🔥🔥🔥
tried the demo didnt like it
This will see me through until lords of the fallen drops. I enjoyed the demo but that camera needed some serious tweaking.
Day 1 for pickup for me
Just noticed its on GP so I'll be playing it there
Played the demo, it was not for me.
The combat felt off, and a bit boring for my tastes.
I’m more looking forward to lords of the fallen now, hopefully they release a playable demo
@Olmaz
FromSoftware has done 2 great games then some good games.
Great games is Bloodborne and Sekiro.
Good games DS1, DS3 and Demon souls.
Below that is Elden Ring and DS2.
Elden ring is one of the most overhyped games ever. Open world was lacking, bosses fight one of worst in their games.
Team Ninja with Nioh games and so on makes better souls games then FromSoftware.
@Olmaz I thought Code Vein was pretty great if you haven't played it yet.
Wo Long was lifeless af but pretty fun as well
I'll try it on Game Pass if I'll ever be done with Starfield but don't have very high hopes. I think graphically this could really work but I've never played a real good soulslike.
@Cherip-the-Ripper I played and finish Code Vein. I liked it a lot for what it was, but it certainly wasn't on the level of FromSoft's games.
I haven't tried WoLong yet, just the demo, and to me, it's more of Nioh, and I don't like both games. While I appreciate the fighting mechanics, the rest of the game doesn't appeal to me.
@Neverwild Opinions, he! : )
I completely disagree with you and would put DS1, Bloodborne and Elden Ring on top, with both Niohs far far behind any FromSoft game, but that's why it's good more and more fantastic soulslike games are done : players will be able to find games that do appeal to their own specific tastes!
@Olmaz that's fair.
I don't actually even like the genre to begin with but I somehow manage to quite enjoy the games in it.
What do you think were some of the standout soulslikes?
I hope The Lords of Fallen manages to wow as well, I've seen most of the promo stuff they've put out and it looks amazing. But the other lords of the fallen game supposedly was quite abysmal so I don't know what to expect lol
I really enjoyed the demo. Hoping the quality holds up throughout. I’ll be picking this up day one if it reviews well.
@DennisReynolds what’s even crazier man is like everything you said there except for Cyberpunk DLC has like 5 day early access so people will already be going hard on like say Mortal Kombat 1 since like you can get that game on the 14th I think. Like a lot of those games people will already be dug hard in on. Not even to mention small things on other consoles like the Pokémon DLC on the 13th for example.
@Ryne-Gaia Yeah its a pretty crazy month.
Demo was far too easy. Unless challenge ramps up significantly I'm not sure about this. Soulslike without challenge is like a curry without salt.
@playstation1995 Lies of Jim Ryan going for the gold but only getting the silver.yeah lies of p is going to be a good game.word up son. Fixed it for you. Oh wait, Jimmy Bob doesn’t play games. He is too busy flying around to stomp on competitors and grease the pockets of local governments and countries. Word up son.
@Cherip-the-Ripper If you go with FromSoftware :
Demon's Souls (remake) if you want something not too long and well organized
Elden Ring if you want something expansive in every way
Bloodborne of course, if you like quicker gameplay and gothic atmosphere
Some will vouch for Sekiro, but I just couldn't get into the flow of the gameplay, and the world didn't do it for it. But some will say it's the best FromSoft game, so who knows.
The Dark Souls series is seminal, especially the first one, but they are starting to feel dated, mainly because subsequent games have refined every aspects.
Other than FromSoft, here are a few games more or less from the same genre that I enjoyed :
Code Vein (as you said)
The Surge 2 (a lot bettter than the first, really well made, with interesting mechanics... just get a bit repetitive in the last third)
Ashen (open-world, minimalistic design, quite enjoyable but far from "great")
Steelrising (I liked the design anbd story, but being part French, I am biased, the gameplay was ok at best)
SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption (very small game, only a few bosses, but very fun gameplay and design)
Salt and Sanctuary (a fantastic game, Dark Souls in 2D, but really, it's not just a marketing ploy)
Mortal Shell (the world design is really good, no doubt, but there's something in the weight of the gameplay that didn't click with me)
Some will say Nioh (1 and 2) but I really didn't like those games. Besides the Japanese yokai esthetic, which I don't like, it felt repetitive and boring. But some love them...
These are the ones that come to mind. I've tried other but they aren't worth mentioning in my opinion.
How are some of these releases STILL cross-gen?!
