Turn-based sports game WrestleQuest has been pinned at the eleventh hour, with developer Mega Cat Games announcing that a bug causing "players to lose their save game progress" was discovered during final checks. WrestleQuest was previously slated to launch today, 8th August, and is now expected to launch on 22nd August.
The studio released a statement announcing the delay, which reads:
"When performing final checks on one of our launch platforms, we discovered it was possible for players to lose their save game progress when playing WrestleQuest on multiple different devices. Because this is a game filled with hours of content and player progress is so important, we could never bodyslam our fans like that. We are truly proud of this game and believe that we have a product that delivers on all counts. We’re blown away by the support we’ve seen from players excited for WrestleQuest, and we can’t wait to share the finished game with everyone on August 22."
You don't see it every day, but it sounds like the last-minute delay hasn't hurt the devs' confidence. WrestleQuest looks great, a hilarious sendup of turn-based RPGs and wrestling both, and we hope the team tracks down that pesky bug.
