At this point everyone knows just how much of a game-changer Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 is. Total gameplay system overhauls, fundamental changes to combat, etc., etc. But there's one adjustment that deserves to be singled out and paraded through the streets — an adjustment that finally fixes what is perhaps the most infamously bad moment in Cyberpunk 2077.
We are, of course, talking about the hilariously awful picture that River's sister Joss sends you via text, after completing all of their related missions. For those who may not know, helping out detective River Ward with his investigation results in V becoming good friends (or potentially more, if you're playing as a female V), with the ex-cop. A little later on, V is sent a photo of River, Joss, and the family.
This image — and the resulting text conversation — was added in one of the game's previous updates, in a bid to help flesh out secondary characters and romance options. However, the picture was comically crap — a shockingly rough photoshop job of the character models hanging out together. Many assumed that it must have been a placeholder or draft that somehow made it into the game — possibly because of time restrictions.
Thankfully, that nightmarish picture has been replaced thanks to Update 2.0. Joss now sends V a much higher quality photo, complete with actual lighting effects and depth. CD Projekt Red actually did it!
For reference, here's the original picture:

The original has a certain charm that the new one doesn't.
Reminds me of Yakuza 5 where some of the restaurants were just an image with the 3D model of Kiryu in front of it.
Belongs in the hall of shame beside Henry Cavill’s lip.
Shoot, the new pictures isn't any better at all lol.
So this is basically PS4 graphics vs. PS5 graphics, literally.

Wow, the upgrade from Sims 3 to Sims 4 is incredible.
I don’t know what you guys are complaining about the original photo is beautiful
The side quests were really engaging, in typical CDPR fashion. Was on my 2nd run but FromSoft games kept hijacking my attention.
Oh my god, the original image is horrid lmao.
As a 3D artist, that first pic is like someone that has no idea about composition, framing, posing or anything. Terrible.
@NarutosBiggestFan It's considerably better. The original looks like every single member was taking a mug shot, except for River who looks like a robot just standing there. The new one actually looks like a real picture, aside from it being all video game characters and such.
That teddy bear had his one shot at fame and they took it from him.
I don't understand the new photo either 😅
Who takes a photo of their friends/family chatting and looking at a tablet. Life is not a scripted reality tv show. In fact it looks more like a catalogue picture or something from a leaflet about Christian counselling 👀
i hadn't seen the original photo before but i feel like it needs to be immortalized. make it river's desktop background in an easter egg or something. it's too good to be thrown away.

Wow. It's getting harder and harder to make a genuine comment stick around here.
@__jamiie and soon it will be movie, tv shows and comic reviews...
Have they added new trophies with the dlc? Might jump in for a 100%
I tried 2.0 it's still ridiculously buggy. Bugs in places I never encountered them in my original playthrough. I'll see what PL is like in 3 years.
