Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming, and it's looking a lot like a Call of Duty game in this new trailer. Emphasising the game's multiplayer, which will be the major draw for many, the video comes as anticipation grows for a full multiplayer reveal at a livestream later this week.
There aren't too many details to unpack here, save for the maps. There will be 16 "iconic" maps at launch, modernised to account for the game's ever-shifting gameplay tweaks.
You'll be able to sample a few of these in the upcoming open beta test. Pre-ordering the game on PlayStation will grant you early access to it, starting from the 6th October. And, as mentioned, a livestream will go out tomorrow, 5th October, revealing live multiplayer gameplay.

Looks kinda disappointing and it's the same maps every time. I really want a new Killzone like Killzone 3 with objectives and a small story in the multi-player and the interactive maps.
Sony if you upgrade the graphics a little and make the online available again i will gladly play it again.
I love how COD trailers always focus so much on the melee takedowns despite the fact they so rarely occur. Your kills are not coming from badass sneak attacks. You're getting no scoped by a wall hacker with a 50:1 K/D as you rage quite for the night.
Also, they love to show off how gritty the characters all look and never show off the Skeletor or Diablo or Mountain Dew skins because they KNOW how ridiculous it actually looks to play a "military" game with such nonsense in it.
But, hey! They haven't provided a new map at all this year. This is what fans want, isn't it? Paying $70 for ***** you already played to death over a decade ago, right?
They tricked me with the last one and all the talk about 2 years of support after years of being burned with annual releases. Never again. COD is officially dead to me for all time.
@Flaming_Kaiser Seriously the COD series can't go a single game without reusing maps time and time again.
I'm useless at this game, but I do enjoy it.
See how it pans out over the weekend, beta wise.
Edit: just read that it comes with 16 maps at launch.
@Nepp67 In fairness they haven't been able to make a decent map in years so old maps are actually welcome.
@Wiggo To be fair it looks like all old maps or maybe I missed the new ones? Reskinning old maps ist that impressive.
@Nepp67 I don't mind the reusing maps but come on lower the price. Or even better make a it 50/50 old and new maps. I loved the look of MW2 remake but I didn't even bother.
@Kevw2006 But why ask full price for a game with only old maps. It's full with ads, microtransactions it's getting quite sad now.
@Flaming_Kaiser I never played any of these games until the last one, not seriously anyway. So these will be new to me.
Thanks
@Wiggo Still stand by my opinion even if its new to this kind of stuff could be free to play and they will make a billion in profit.
Cod turned into a slot machine shooter no thanks.
@Flaming_Kaiser It's activision, even if it was the exact same game they would charge you full price. I like old maps but when it is most of the maps for an entirely new game it feels like I'm not getting any new content. Especially with 3 basically being an expansion.
@Nepp67 I agree this is just a expansion a basic remaster full with a insane amount of monetization.
@Flaming_Kaiser Especially with the black cell they are charging 30 bucks for
@Nepp67 It's painful but we gamers are the problem because we accept it. I can't blaim the young gamers they don't know any better I think this is normal.
