Unreal Engine 5 has been chosen as the engine EA Motive will use to build its Iron Man game, which is currently in early development. The untitled project has been officially in production at the Dead Space developer since February, and all we know so far is it's going to be a third-person, single player action-adventure experience that "taps into the rich history of Iron Man".
Now an engine has been selected, the studio has also formed a Community Council, which will be "offering feedback on pretty much everything throughout the development process". EA Motive did the same when it was remaking Dead Space, which led to the team going back to the drawing board to improve certain elements such as weapon sounds. With EA Motive still advertising open roles at the studio, its Iron Man game is still a number of years away from release, but Unreal Engine 5 is allowing the "dev team to work their magic and create something really special".

@Powerplay94 Job advertisement basically. If a game gets announced and it's nothing more then just a logo then in all likelihood it's a company's public way of recruiting.
I hope Motive and EA have a team that's doing a Dead Space 2 remake, they did such a great job with the first one.
Oh, didn't know this was a thing, but I don't care about game announcements more than 6 months in advance.
@Powerplay94 @AdamNovice Shareholders as well. Announcing big projects tends to show investors that the company's on the right track long-term. It's a bit rubbish for us as people who just want to play good games sooner rather than later, but yeah, it's typically all business behind early announcements.
@ShogunRok Good shout on the shareholders comment, because unlike companies like Sony who have other business interests, EA only sell games.
@Powerplay94 I got it for my birthday so I couldn't judge it on full price value. But I really enjoyed it, was very faithful to the original while fixing what was needed and adding new elements that add to the story.
considering unreal 5 games are struggling for performance on current consoles it being on unreal 5 is not a good thing.
I'm stoked for this one, but if it doesn't release within the next three years that will start to fade. I like it when games are no more than a few years out from releasing after there announcement
