Folks, we're just hours away from getting a Dragon's Dogma 2 release date. The reveal was confirmed by director Hideaki Itsuno last night, who wrote on Twitter: "It's almost here! Tomorrow, we will “formally” announce the release date."
The date announcement will be part of the Dragon's Dogma 2 Showcase, which is being broadcast later today at 1pm PST / 4pm EST / 9pm GMT / 10pm CET. The event will be 15 minutes long, and also promises new gameplay footage and information.
Of course, we can't write this article without at least mentioning the fact that Dragon's Dogma 2's release date seemingly leaked just a couple of weeks ago. According to Europe's PEGI age ratings board, the action RPG is pencilled in for the 22nd March.
Anyway, even if the leaked date ends up being correct, it'll still be well worth watching this showcase if you're interested in Capcom's upcoming title. We'll be hosting the stream live here on Push Square, so feel free to join us for all the excitement.

I can't wait for this, one of my most anticipated games for next year.
@UltimateOtaku91 Same.
I was kinda sad about not gonna have a great RPG after BG3 and this pops up.
Hopefully there will be a confirmed collectors edition aswell, I love the Capcom CEs!!
@puddinggirl Well tbf there's a few next year all within a month of each other like Granblue, Persona 3R, FF7 ReBirth and of course possible this game as well. I'm hoping Dragons Dogma 2 is much longer than the first game though.
Oooh great news, haven’t played much of the first one as I didn’t get fully into it on the 360 will definitely be wanting to play through the remaster on the PS4. Hoping this doesn’t release in March though as that’s kinda too close to the release of VII remake Rebirth. Definitely will be wanting to get this though as it looks incredible so far
Never played the original one but this game certainly looks very interesting
Tekken
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

@UltimateOtaku91 Sorry, I didn't specify that it's medieval-inspired high-fantasy RPG.
Of course, I'm super hyped about those anime/JRPGs too.
Cant wait.dragon dogma dark arisen is one of the best games ever made.cant wait for dragon dogma 2.its going to be excellent.word up son
I hated the first game when I bought it but then I persevered and it really grew on me. The epic battles with Manitcores, horny Ogres, and Cyclop's were just amazing for the time. And venturing out in the dark was a nerve tingling experience that always rewarded. And the pawn system rocked as well. Looking forward to this, hopefully they won't have messed around with the core premise too much and this is an evolution of the first game and not some hot mess of trying to meet everyones expectations instead.
Sony Studios releases have left me cold but this is one of titles that I bought a PS5 for.
@puddinggirl
Baldur’s gate is also a D&D game which we don’t have many video games of.
I haven’t played Baldur’s gate 3 yet but I’ve loved what I have seen of it and also seems like a very in depth RPG.
Almighty CapGod, let it be April or May. Show us humble Japanese games appreciators some mercy.
Steam is now listing it as March 21.
@Dragoon1994 Neverwinter Nights 1, Neverwinter Nights 2, Neverwinter Nights 3, Icewind dale 1, Incewind dale 2, Planescape Torment, Planescape Tides of Numenera, Lords of Waterdeep, Baldur's Gate 1, Baldur's Gate 2, Sword Coast Legends, Baldur's Gate 3 - those are just some DnD PC games that came to my mind.
There are dozens of them to be honest. The problem is at some point Wizards of the Coast sold adaptation rights to almost any studios. So now we have some epic RPGs alongside with mediocre (at best) titles. Hope after BG3 success they will pay much more attention to collaborations with decent developers.
It’s a day 1 buy regardless what day it will be released.
@Tomato_Goose Neverwinter Nights was epic - never got round to trying the PS4 enhanced version.
Think I've got Sword Coast Legends on PS4 too?
I am excited for this game because I loved the first, but I have to say the color palette of the screenshots so far are drab looking. The first game was very colorful and I'm missing that element in the screenshots I've seen so far.
Looking forward to seeing more of this.
The showings thus far don't have me convinced that this isn't just a remaster reskinned as a sequel. The environments looked dated and the fact that every monster shown are literally touched up copies of those in the original has me worried this may be more uninspired than what was hoped for. I loved the original, but its color palette and design today is very dated in terms of environments and layout. It absolutely had its shortcoming's and if this doesn't address them it would be a shame.
Hopefully this showing really squashes that out and shows as more than just rerelease of a cult classic slapping a 2 after the title and bringing it up to early ps4 levels of fidelity.
Still no release date for Pragmata though, a game revealed at the PS5's initial reveal
