Small Saga is an indie RPG developed by a single, ridiculously talented person, Darya Noghani, who previously worked on the surreal Avian Attorney, both available now on PC. So ridiculously good that we need this audience specifically to know about it; Small Saga is eventually coming to consoles, but there is no real indication as to when.
Noghani teased, in a Steam update: "Trading cards? Achievements? Console ports? Well, one thing at a time."
Small Saga is a classic-style turn-based RPG set in a world of anthropomorphic animals where humans are seen as all-powerful, unknowable gods. You play as Verm, a taciturn protagonist of the Squall persuasion, who wields a "god-weapon", which in reality is a forgotten human pocket-knife that looks like Cloud's Buster Sword in his tiny mouse paws, on a journey of epic proportions. The music is incredible, and it features a dark, surprisingly brutal narrative that continues to surprise us in the best way possible.
It just released on PC (we've been playing on Steam Deck), and already know this one is going to be huge whenever it finally arrives on PlayStation. A big free content expansion is planned for next year, which seems to us like a good opportunity.
What do you think of Small Saga? Does this seem like a journey worth waiting for? Stand tall in the comments section below.

I'm not big on turn based RPGs, but this does look unique.
Lol... he pulled a knife on the cat for standing in his way. Maybe a bit over the top. 😅
Combat is very reminiscent of the shining force games
It looks quite fun and interesting. The art is nice but lacking in the animation front.
This is a good example of why AI will be used more and more in the gaming industry : the creation of animation frames with AI based on static drawings will greatly help making indie games like this more fluid.
I'm impressed! It's hard to make a game stand out, but they managed to do it. Looking forward to giving it a go when it comes out on ps5.
Big FFIX vibes, looks great! Might have to dip into this on my laptop. If it can handle the game.
Good looking out Khayl, this looks swish.
Rather pay full price for then COD without the shadow of a doubt.
Big Lemmiwinks vibes, looks mid.
This looks very cool and brings me memories of my youth...
This looks lovely, particularly enjoyed the music. Also strolling through the beans isle made me chuckle. Will defo keep an eye on it
I really love the pixel art. Tossing this onto my Steam wishlist asap.
I dunno. The charm of a mouse wielding a random pocket knife as a "god weapon" is kinda lost on me when you're fighting fully armored mice and robotic dogs.
PlayStation is the brand for casuals. They are only interested in generic AAA titles.
There is a reason Indie games sell poorly on PlayStation consoles.
