Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin marches imminently on PS5, and we got our last look at the game in action before battle commences on 17th November.
A squad-based RTS in the style of games like the recent Company of Heroes 3, Realms of Ruin is a slick-looking take that wears the skin of Age of Sigmar, Games Workshop's contentious Warhammer Fantasy rebranding. That matters less to us, focused as we are on the thought of a deep single-player campaign and an impressive-looking multiplayer suite where we plan to lead our unique and painstakingly hand-painted forces to victory against all challengers.

It seems surreal, as this sort of thing was previously the province of PC players, but 2023 has been particularly kind to the passionate fans of this admittedly niche genre. Seeing quality strategy games like Aliens: Dark Descent, Jagged Alliance 3, Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening, and Anno 1800 Console Edition, released just this year on PlayStation platforms, gives us selfish hope this trend will continue, and Realms of Ruin looks like it will be joining that list.
Have you detected a discernable uptick in strategy games coming to PlayStation lately? Does Realms of Ruin look like a worthy offering? Make the sign of the hammer in the comments section below.

Those Sigmarines are boring as hell, but that game looks perfect. Don't know why they stuck only on four armies??? I hope AoS ends soon and Old World comes back.
This looks potentially great, but another game with a tiny UI you need to be a foot away from the screen to be able to use.
@djlard It's coming back early next year but alongside Sigmar (why would they end it if they're still making money?). What I'd love is for Fatshark to make a Cursed City game.
@Worlock_ed Looking forward, still making my fantasy on square bases. But I hope it will transit into digital gaming. Sigmarines are the most boring fraction GW ever made.
Actually IMHO, this looks incredibly generic.
I have enjoyed Warhammer 40K, but I don't know, I might look at this again down the road if the reviews are great and it ends up on sale. Maybe BG3 has just ruined me on games that don't have an incredibly high bar.
For now.... big pass....
I was on board with this until I saw the launch trailer. It wasn't what I was hoping for, so I took it off my wishlist. Then, I read PC Gamer's review and they definitely did not like it partially for being oversimplified, which is something I already worried about with the game being an RTS also on consoles. Oh well. I've never been a big fan of regular Warhammer, but I love Warhammer 40K and thought I'd give this a shot. Maybe one day I still will.
NTY, soon as it said multiplayer, it became trash....
Toodles
@DarthOreo
whatever. I have it. It’s not “generic.” If you don’t want it, fine.
Hey I was expressing my opinion. I was not dissing anyone else getting it. Seems a little heated a response to my opinion. You do you .....
