Dragon Ball FighterZ is, without any shadow of a doubt, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on PlayStation platforms. However, hardcore fans playing on the PS4 always hoped rollback netcode would make the cut. While nothing has been announced for last-gen versions, Bandai Namco is plotting a PS5 re-release with a free upgrade – and it’ll feature the all-important lag-reducing online multiplayer tech.
While there’s no release date attached to that version just yet, it does sound like it’s getting closer, as the publisher is launching a public beta test for the PC version of the game from 30th November through 11th December. If you own the release on Steam, you’ll be able to test out the new netcode free of charge throughout the aforementioned dates.
Presumably this will be a final test before the PS5 version launches and rollback netcode is finally introduced to PlayStation players. We expect a release date to be announced early in the New Year.

Im wondering with how long this took to release if ArcSys is planning to release more content, if not thats fine, just hope there's a FighterZ 2 announcement along the way.
@Nepp67 Officially they've said no more content, but considering how much they've supported games like XenoVerse 2 and JoJo, I wouldn't be surprised if they did add some more stuff.
After being dormant for feels like forever, glad to see some news again about the DBFZ rollback. Such an amazing VS like fighting game that’s held back by the bad netcode. Hoping to see the full launch of this sometime soon and get back into it
I'm guessing all the dlc characters won't be included with the PS5 version? 🙁
@get2sammyb That's fine then, they already made a big balance patch which I have not tried out yet because Im waiting for the rollback.
@Juanalf Seeing as it's a free upgrade, unlikely. If you own them on PS4, though, I imagine all the packs will carry across to PS5.
Good God it's about time
@get2sammyb They did say that but they also released a balance patch after the "final" balance patch, so who knows.
Seems unlikely though, game will be 6 y.o. by the time they release the PS5 version.
Sweet that it will start on my birthday!
I just recently started Xenoverse 2. An excuse to play through FighterZ again on PS5 would be an added bonus. Between those two games and the new Budokai (whenever that's coming out), and the new arcs of Super hopefully being animated soon, not a bad time at all to be a DBZ fan.
