HBO's excellent adaptation of The Last of Us has found its Jesse, with actor Young Mazino joining the cast for the show's second season. Mazino joins Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), and fellow newcomer Kaitlyn Dever (Abby) to tackle the events of The Last of Us Part II.
Mazino is probably best known for his role in the Netflix series Beef and will play Jesse, a reliable resident of Jackson, trusted by Joel, and a friend of Ellie's. The show's official description of the character reads: "A pillar of his community who puts everyone else's needs before his own, sometimes at terrible cost.”
Developer Naughty Dog said it was "so excited" to see Mazino take on the role, and showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin said of the casting: “Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him. We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”
