We must admit, Granblue Fantasy: Relink's release date had us worried for a while. The action RPG — which we awarded a rock solid 8/10 in our review — launched just a day before the heavily marketed Persona 3 Reload, and just a week after the highly rated Tekken 8 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It felt like a bit of a suicide mission, but Relink's actually managed to do well for itself — especially given the circumstances.
Indeed, Relink's racked up more than 1 million sales in under two weeks (retail and digital copies included, worldwide). We don't really know what level of success Cygames had been targeting, but that's got to be considered some kind of win.
The developer has stated that Relink will not follow a live service model despite its leanings towards online play — but it will be getting at least three big updates in the relatively near future. The first is due in early March, the second in April, and the third in May. They'll add "a new quest, new playable characters, and other surprises". It'll be interesting to see if Relink remains popular as these updates arrive.

Hoping to pick this up at the weekend, so one million and one copies!
Really looking forward to venturing into this one!
I don't understand the appeal. There are a million other anime games similar to this one. There is even less new stuff here than in a brand new AC game. Anime fans are probably the easiest demographic to please.
Im quite enjoying it. Chapter 6 of however many there are. Im happy its on the shorter side of things that the classic 60h long rpgs that were used to. Looking forward to leveling up all the characters and doing aome post game high lvl quests.
Great success! PlayStation is killing it right now.
Tried the demo, enjoyed it quite a bit. Reminds me of Xenoblade Chronicles mechanics with better graphics (XC is really held back by the under-powered platform). I'll pick it up eventually, that's for sure.
Between the recent big hitters like Tekken 8 and upcoming games like FFVII Rebirth, I'm happy that Relink did very well. I'm really enjoying the game despite not knowing much about GranBlue's lore. This might become a sleeper hit and will be buried under these major releases but nonetheless, kudos to Cygames for hitting a million. We jrpg fans are eating good!
I'm on the last chapter and it's been great so far, the online quests are fun and the combat doesn't feel like a chore. Can't wait to unlock over 50 more quests after the story is done and can focus levelling up my mains Narmaya and Caglisotro.
Excellent. This is great news.
I reached the endgame last night. It was after 1am by the time I stopped trying to S++ missions and level up weapons.
It gets very addictive at that point.
@UltimateOtaku91 At some point this week Narmaya became my main. The damage she deals when you get a combo going makes me lol with glee in some of the boss fights.
@Triumph741 it a famous anime ip that is why
On the endgame chapter. About 37 hours in. Loved it, but grinding to do these higher level quests and upgrade characters/weapons is starting to suck enjoyment out of it. I say, as I still can't stop playing
Amazing game.im happy for granblue fantasy relink sells over 1 million word up son
I’m waiting until later in the year but I’m excited to eventually play it. It looks like a lot of fun so it’s good to see it’s reviewed and sold well.
Awesome to see its doing well so far. I felt like I haven't heard people talk about it as much but I guess it shows a lot of people have been very excited for the game. Hopefully Versus Rising can reach these numbers eventually too. Both deserve this kind of success considering how quality they both are
I am definitely picking up Granblue Fantasy Relink's in a month or two. Glad the game is selling well.
Nice. Congrats to the team. This one is a wait for a sale for me. But it still looks pretty good.
Super happy for CyGames. The game is loads of fun and in enjoying it alot!
Great news. Loving my time with it.
Amazing to have hardware that can truly bring Anime games to life. The Art looks fantastic in motion.
Happy for them!
Wasn’t the best time to come out

Just started Chapter 8, and have been loving the game. Glad to see it's doing well, given how packed the release schedule has been.
