Lost Hellden is a rather sumptuous looking RPG, freshly announced for PS5 and PS4. It features frankly gorgeous hand-drawn backgrounds, what seems to be a striking art style, and action combat. The official press release also boasts of deep storytelling, as twin brothers embark on a dangerous adventure.
It's being developed by Artisan Studios — the team behind the admittedly hit-and-miss Astria Ascending — but there are two big Japanese names in the mix: illustrator Takeshi Oga (Gravity Rush, Siren) and composer Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy 12, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, and the upcoming Unicorn Overlord).
We know it's only a short teaser trailer — and Lost Hellden is targeting a 2025 release window — but there's clearly a lot of promise here. What are your early impressions? Keep an eye out for this one in the comments section below.

I am certainly intrigued.
I'm liking the look of this, definitely will be keeping an eye on this games progress and future trailers.
Could be cool. There's some great talent connected so I'm at least intrigued. I look forward to seeing more.
Beautiful artwork and the pedigree is clearly there with the team. One to keep an eye on for sure.
Definitely interested! Hard to tell if the combat is turn based or not? Definitely looks like it’s in mini arena’s at least as in Tales Of Arise etc. it’s funny, despite having really got into the JRPG sub genre the past few years, turn-based combat still doesn’t really do it for me. I know that’s sacrilege!
Love the general look of this though!
I need a demo to help me decide if it's for me or not
@NieR_Dark The press release says it's action combat, but it looks like you'll be able to select commands from a menu in between hacking and slashing — a bit like FF7 Remake, maybe.
@ShogunRok Ah that sounds good to me! Although even in the first FF7 remake I still somehow ended up stuck in a cycle constantly pausing and replenishing MP / HP toward the end game.
I’m just clearly not very good at point management in these games 😄
Are these...pre-rendered backgrounds?? And turn based combat?? Color me interested.
The art design is really good, looks really interesting.
English dub? I know that's not everyone's cuppa but having the option is better than not having it.
Got 3 eyes on this. Looks really sick
This is an interesting looking game 🎮
Interesting, the character art style reminds me of PS2 era JRPGs, but the top down isometric environmental art oddly enough is reminding me of an old obscure PC JRPG called Septerra Core.
I love these and I'm still waiting for the Legend of Dragoon remake/remaster or whatever you have for me Sony.
