Mortal Kombat 1 is having a big day today. The grisly fighting game is not only kicking off Season 4: The Huntress, it's also adding a new playable character and crossplay — sorry, krossplay — functionality, opening up the community across all platforms.
So, as its name implies, Season 4 of Invasions mode is all about Mileena. She's become the main antagonist for this fresh season, which also adds new challenges, boss fights, and hundreds of cosmetic rewards to earn. Season 4 runs until 16th April.
Peacemaker is the game's newest guest character, available now to all owners of the Kombat Pack. For everyone else, he arrives a week later.
Krossplay support is also now part of Mortal Kombat 1. It allows everyone across PS5, Xbox Series, and PC to matchmake together in ranked and casual matches, invite friends to private games, and view cross-platform leaderboards.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with MK1 after the previous installment. I found invasions to be overly repetitive and dull.
I had hoped invasions would be more like the board mode in Smash Bros, but I lost interest. Shame really because the mechanics in game are excellent.
MK has always been way too 50/50 based for me. I have bought them all, but the new one is by far the least I have played an entry.
Tekken all the way now.
peacemaker is a cool character the show was great
Can’t wait to play Tekken 8 again.
@Pinkman invasions murder is a huge let down. I skipped season 3 after getting board is season 1. It was just repeating the same thing and getting crap consumables that weren't necessary to win.
WB is more interested in creating live service and micro transactions then anything.
Remember when MK had kart racing, chess puzzle Kombat? Now we can't even get new fatalities without paying.
And where the hell are stage fatalities?
The game came out 6 months ago. How can it possibly be in a season 4 already? Getting real loose with the "season" term here.
They seriously haven’t aborted this abomination they’re calling invasions. It’s the most uninspired grindfest imaginable and what makes it all the more galling is that the reward for hours of grind is the chance to unlock the most tedious palate swap skins. Then you look at all the cool nostalgia skins they’ve made, which you have to pay about £27 a time for or whatever they think they can charge. Christ what a sh1tshow
