Along with P3R, this is a big year for double dipping on Atlus titles! A seriously incredible game, which should be even better with the improved visuals and added content.
Welp buyers remorse is setting in lol
But screw it I'm double dipping. I really want to see how this game actually looks running properly. And to listen to some of the bangers in game again
I really wanted to get this for Switch but the performance was pretty poor. Hoping the PS5 version solves all those issues.
About damn time and for not just PlayStation platforms too. Finally new SMT mainline freed from being exclusive.
I am really looking forward to playing this again with 4K, HDR, 60fps, and trophy support on PS5. I'll wait for a sale, though. I'm assuming there will be a physical release? If not, I'll pass.
@Judal27 Shiva's battle theme is INCREDIBLE! I loved it! You know what? Gonna listen to it again right now.
Really hope they detail the improvements to the base game soon.
@Rob3008 Honestly, it should run amazingly on anything that's not a Switch.
Will be buying this a third time for my Steam Deck <3
Wooo! I'm excited for PlayStation fans to FINALLY have a mainline SMT experience again. The new content and improved visuals and performance look good here and I can't wait to see more. Hopefully this helps grow the series.
A Atlus re-release?! Shocking!
At least this version is bound to have an actual frame rate unlike what the OG Switch version did.
Here is my money again.
@breakneck I have some of the tracks on my Spotify playlist lol. Here's hoping any new track they add are just as good
Cannot wait.. although if the Elden Ring DLC releases on the same day this and I will have to wait!
It'll be sodding typical if Dawntrail also releases around that time.
Awesome! No need to say more.....
Played and loved the original on Switch so i shell buy this day 1 on PS5.
@Kanji-Tatsumi
Definitely Attack!
Where can we from Europe find the preorders for physical editions? All I can find is the American Atlus Shop
Great news, hope the performance improvements will be substantial.
@Rob3008 did you not watch the video?! Game is in 60fps. Sweet hallelujah!
Will definitely buy it again and play it again. It's an incredible game, I really loved it, far better than Persona 5, but the whole experience was underwhelmed by the Switch poor performance. By the way, seeing my son playing Sonic Frontiers on Switch convinced me to invest in a PS5. At some point, it makes no sense to continue to use the Switch, it's a pain to see all theses 2d assets popping 2 meters away from you as you move forward..
Man Elden Ring DLC releasing the same day as this really has me worried for SMT V:V's sales. I just feel like all the new PlayStation fans that would really enjoy SMT V's world design, lore, moral choices, and difficulty, will all be playing Elden Ring instead 😅😅
That's an unfortunate day of release next to Elden ring but still I'm looking forward to it!
Yes!!! Excellent choice Atlus! Put it up for preorder immediately so I can give you my money 😍.
FINALLY!!!!! LET’S GOOOOOO!!!
Love the original version of SMTV on switch but haven’t gotten far on it.
Definitely getting this day one for PS5.
Hoping we get physical versions and not just digital ones
@B0udoir I'm afraid when you play Sonic Frontiers on any platform those 2D assets are still popping in mere metres away from you. It's hilarious running at max settings at 4K on PC and the universe still teleports in and out 🤣
Honestly I am more excited for this than when my wife left me!
Now they need to remaster SMT IV and do a collection of the past games Shin Megami Tensei I and II and Megami Tensei I and II (those two could be based on the SNES/SFC version)
Really glad to see this finally freed from the Switch and all these additions just make it a definite purchase this summer.
I said in another post that I was a Final Fantasy fanboi and the Shin Megami Tensei titles for me went largely ignored. I played Persona 5 a few years ago, started P5 Royal just before Infinite Wealth came out and have P3 Reload in the queue next and will finish 5 after I finish 3. I also have P4 Golden on order from Limited Run that I will play when I get it. There is also Metaphor: Refantazio coming out in the fall which looks fantastic and is created by all the Persona luminaries. My question to everyone is this. Do I need to make room in my life for another 100+ hour JRPG when this comes out?
The Switch version looks and runs like a**.
Glad it finally gets a release on more powerful platforms.
Highly recommended for anyone who hasn’t played this on Switch. Two demon thumbs up
Bought the Switch version on release and I've only played around 5 hours since, the performance and visuals are pretty bad so maybe I will give it a proper go but on Playstation 5 instead.
They said I was a fool for waiting for a PS5 release. Who's laughing now.
@MikeOrator SMT5 is not a JRPG in my opinion, not even a RPG either. Ok you gain XP and put some points in some stats, but you don't roleplay or follow a deep story made of choices. It's more like a mix of ... Dark Souls and Monster Hunter ? You play SMT5 for epic turn based battles, in a weird environment where a snow man is asking you to bring him alcohol (to host a party if I remember correctly)...
Well, I bet on a PS release - looks like I won.
Stop playing on Switch because of the shimmering, jaggy mess (power cables became dashes) and enemies in the background were dancing at like 3fps.
Day 1 - happy to start over if cleaned up. The base art is fantastic.
They already have my money
I passed on this on Switch because of potential issues with the difficulty, and the fact that I used my Switch sparingly, but I might give this more consideration now that it's coming to the PS5 (my primary console).
I bought the fall of man edition for switch but didnt play it mostly cause i had other games so i dunno when ppl complain that it runs like garbage on the switch. Time to trade my copy in for the ps5 version bet theyll have some sort of collectors edition on the atlus store. If they did it with persona 3 R theyll def do it for this game
@B0udoir
So like Persona a little bit. Turn base battles, stat progression, i can still assume over 100 hours to see everything, lots of cut scenes, Atlus Game, made in Japan...kinda sounds like a JRPG to me. What do you consider a JRPG?
