Baldur’s Gate 3 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will go head-to-head once more at the BAFTAs, with both titles leading the way for nominations at this year’s show. Larian Studios’ phenomenal RPG secured an impressive 10 nominations overall, while Insomniac Games’ superhero sequel isn’t far behind, with nine. The two titles will compete with Alan Wake 2, Dave the Diver, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Bros Wonder for the Best Game accolade.
In total, 40 games have been nominated across 17 categories, with other noteworthy releases including Final Fantasy 16 (four nominations), Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (six nominations), and Cocoon (four nominations). Indie hits Tchia, Thirsty Suitors, and Goodbye Volcano High will all compete in the Game Beyond Entertainment category as well.
The ceremony itself is scheduled to take place on 11th April at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and the whole thing will be livestreamed worldwide from 19:00 BST. In the meantime, you can browse the full list of nominees, segregated by category, through here.

Final Fantasy 16 not being on there, but Dave the Diver, c’mon! I say this as someone who likes Dave the Diver.
I’m rooting for Alan Wake to finally win just one GotY. We all know Baldur’s Gate will probably win, but I want to believe.
@somnambulance at least it got 4 nominations. Not too shabby.
A shame Final Fantasy 16 couldn't make the top category, hoping Zelda wins as it was an amazing game.
Alan Wake 2>Spiderman 2 in every way but combat imo
Sweet baby nooooo!
What happened with the music category??? No Hi-Fi Rush, no Final Fantasy 16, but Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Spider-Man 2, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
Here's hoping for a tie in sale for these games.
If Alan Wake 2 is going to win a big one then this is the best shot. BG3 has enough recognition, time to go with the arthouse entry, BAFTA.
But then again, Karlach, Shadowheart, Astarion and maybe even Gale's companion stories are BAFTA worthy, so another award can't hurt.
@naruball True. I do think it’s a bit of a pity how FF16 went from being the return to form for the series to being overlooked over the course of the second half of last year. The game deserved better than that. While I preferred it to Baldur’s Gate, I can see where people are going with the objectively better take, and I could see the argument for TotK as well, though, again, I preferred 16 personally. I just feel the game got the short end of things. It could be compounded by the fact that I felt Spider-Man 2 was a big slight in comparison, as well. Doesn’t mean I’m right, of course, but being a fan is rarely a position of being reasonable.
@Deoxyr1bose if those are the noms (I haven’t looked at them) for the music category, that’s criminal IMO to not have the ones you listed. FFXVI had such a beautiful OST. What a shame
