While the sad news that developer Larian Studios will not be working on a sequel or DLC for the breakout 2023 RPG Baldur's Gate 3 is true, additional evil endings are on the way and should help salve the wound. Add that to the previously announced mod support promised for PS5, and that's all she wrote for the revolutionary roleplaying experience, which we hailed as "one of the greatest RPGs of our time."
Larian founder and director Swen Vincke sat for a far-ranging interview with IGN, from which many tantalising factoids have been gleaned, letting players know they "aren't going to see massive content changes" to the game moving forward. He was willing to tease that additional evil endings are on the way for those more sadistically inclined and that these endings will, if you could imagine, be somehow more evil than what we've got right now: "So they're working on the evil endings. I've seen some of them. They're really evil, so the evil players will be satisfied with that."
Larian will continue to greener pastures, and IP holder Hasbro, Wizard of the Coast's parent company, is already looking to capitalise, and threatened that more D&D games are coming. The characters Larian created for BG3 belong to WOTC, as they always did; Vincke hopes they'll be treated with respect.
How are you feeling about the state of Baldur's Gate 3 now that an appreciable amount of time has passed? Would you potentially be up for another playthrough, perhaps as an evil character this time? Let us know in the comments section below.

Having just finished an evil run, the "control" ending certainly felt abrupt, especially compared to the other endings with the 6 month epilogue, so hopefully they will add more
Looking forward to mod support the most. Maybe that can make the game more fun and less tedious.
In one of those endings people invented television and video game consoles but the only games available are live service AAAA ones.
I'll be up for a third playthrough and I'll definitely get Minthara in the party this time.
Still waiting for a physical release lol
DD2 and more than enough other games are keeping me busy, so I'll have patience
@Specky
Doesn't look like you'll have long to wait now, better double time DD2!

I'm not a big fan of multiple possible endings in big rpg's. FF X-2 left me with a trauma locking me from the best ending because of one choice.... Still going to try this game ones I'm finished with all the other big rpg's. Need to buy some extra time.
The most evil ending is introducing social media and smart phones to Faerun.
@Futureshark
Damn I missed that! Awesome news!
Dark urge aside, there is only a joke of an afterthought for an evil ending right now, so this is good news.
It should have been there at launch and we should be be acting like this is a "great example of going above and beyond", this is base expected content being put in the game over half a year after launch. Every site I've seen has terrible reporting on BG3 stuff added after launch.
The current evil ending a bad cartoon, so imagining something more evil is not hard. I also hope it actually respects your choices (certain evil alliances at the end will actually carry through and you see what happens) and doesn't require me to restart the game but just use one of my already late-game saves that I've kept so carefully.
