While the sad news that developer Larian Studios will not be working on a sequel or DLC for the breakout 2023 RPG Baldur's Gate 3 is true, additional evil endings are on the way and should help salve the wound. Add that to the previously announced mod support promised for PS5, and that's all she wrote for the revolutionary roleplaying experience, which we hailed as "one of the greatest RPGs of our time."
Larian founder and director Swen Vincke sat for a far-ranging interview with IGN, from which many tantalising factoids have been gleaned, letting players know they "aren't going to see massive content changes" to the game moving forward. He was willing to tease that additional evil endings are on the way for those more sadistically inclined and that these endings will, if you could imagine, be somehow more evil than what we've got right now: "So they're working on the evil endings. I've seen some of them. They're really evil, so the evil players will be satisfied with that."
Larian will continue to greener pastures, and IP holder Hasbro, Wizard of the Coast's parent company, is already looking to capitalise, and threatened that more D&D games are coming. The characters Larian created for BG3 belong to WOTC, as they always did; Vincke hopes they'll be treated with respect.
