Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed is an upcoming 3D action platformer and the sequel to the latest animated film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, picking up the story several months later. It's due out on PS5 and PS4 in Q4 of 2024, and we got our first glimpse of it in screenshots and learned more about the game's structure.
Players can explore New York City's five boroughs, including sewers and skyscrapers, alone or in a two-player local co-op. The game's official blurb describes this: "Players take control of the four masked heroes, each with their unique playstyle, as they traverse the sewers and city streets of New York. With an immersive world to explore both above and below ground, meet familiar faces as the ragtag heroes in a half shell gear up to delight fans at home with their chaotic capers."

Yes! Quite excited about this. It would be awesome if they make it for 4 players co-op.
i can’t wait until the semi-realistic M-rated TMNT comes out
@nomither6 You're referring to The Last Ronin.
@nomither6 You might be waiting a while, if it comes out at all: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2024/01/tmnt-the-last-ronin-dev-reportedly-cut-in-half-after-layoffs
Mutant Mayhem was decent but I can't say I'm a big fan of it far as animated TMNT movies goes.
As for the tie-in game, I need to see a trailer first but I'm being very cautious considering the publisher here.
Doesn't help that the game is 2-player only in co-op. Seriously, whats up with that?
@Impossibilium i’m lost for words
@Ken_Kaniff i was when i thought the game existed but its cancelled
@nomither6 It wasn't canceled. The team was reduced, but they didn't say it was canceled...yet
This looks like must have game. Didn't play solid arcade since Marvel Avengers.
@Bingbongboyo 100% 4 player Co op please. Some of my best gaming times at the moment is playing shredders revenge with my boys.
Its not floating my boat unfortunately.
The 90s turtles cartoon for me is the only one which ever looked great. It still holds up.
Anything after that has been awful.
Films aswel the classics are still the best. They actually look like turtles.
This game looks awful.
Can we not get a proper turtles game. One which actually follows the lore. All we ever get is best em up knack style 3d turtle games.
I'm looking forward to the last Ronin but I'd love a more gritty teenage ninja turtles game, disguises, only coming out at night, foot clan taking over the city.
Its funny that still to this day 80s and 90s cartoons have probably the best art style and they actually had a pretty deep continuous story.
Its time we get a proper triple a turtles game.
Shredders revenge was a great side scroller game.
@Bez87 Anything after the 90s Turtles was awful?! Eh no....Shredder's Revenge is excellent and paid great homage to the 90s. It wasn't a side scroller game at all.🤷🏾♂️
@Bez87 the 2003 TMNT had the best art style though & that wasn’t the 90s. The show wasn’t childish either and started off dark
@Rafie I said it was great. I was just being vague of the side scrolling part, trying to get across more of the fact we've not had much or really anything apart from those types of games, which were any good.
I was complementing that game but still that game is a nod and a throwback to the arcade games which is great and all but we've never had anything else which has been good.
I'm thinking a true turtles game in the style of say a god of war over shoulder type game now, ive always wanted one.
I was actually quite excited when the rumours came out about rocksteady maybe doing a game.
There gameplay formula from the batman games and world building, would fit perfectly to a turtles game. Such a shame.
@nomither6 I dont agree on the best but I definitely missed that in my memory, sp ill give you that.
I just remember the newer movies, and the stick thin looking turtles from a few years ago, which I hated, even the new movie which was alright but the art style for me is not what I want.
But I am old, so nostalgia may play a part in that and 2003 I was definitely in party and rave mode for a good few years so missed that.
I mean still 2003 isn't that far removed from the 90s did that come straight after the 90s cartoon or is there other ones in between.
If so it shows how much they took inspiration from the 90s art style and kept it in the same type.
Very x men type style from the 90s. I may give that series a watch. Thankyou
