Announced for PS5 at The Game Awards last year, No Rest for the Wicked has returned with a lengthy gameplay showcase. Narrated by developer Moon Studios — the Austria-based team behind the Ori games — the footage shows huge promise. It's an isometric, dark fantasy RPG where you make your own character, experiment with various weapon-based fighting styles, and engage in bloody battle.
There's also a whole side activity that has you building and decorating your own base of operations, but in true action RPG fashion, your focus will be on the story-driven campaign, followed by endgame adventures. Moon Studios says the game's world will change and offer new challenges once you've seen the credits roll.
Again, No Rest for the Wicked just looks really, really good. It enters early access on Steam next month, and it'll launch on PS5 when version 1.0 rolls around. We don't really have a timeframe on that right now, but we're sure more information will be dropping over the coming months.

I was just looking at the reveal for this again today. Been craving more info.
We're getting so many excellent fantasy games lately. More more more please.
While the conversation is swirling around the future and sustainability of AAA gaming at the moment, I think projects like this are such a great example of where things can go - an art style that is so strong it easily competes with the flashiest graphics of its peers, while not having to bankrupt the studio.
This looks like the sort of atmosphere and attention to detail I'd expect from a big release like a Diablo title or something. So stoked for this game. Diablo + Souls-like is right up my alley.
It really makes you wonder why big name studios can't come up with stuff this focused nowadays. They must be such giant, bloated corporate messes.
@HamKnight These silly developers making a game with fun and original gameplay. This shows that gaming needs a reset in a few area's.
This one looks great.
I’ll be watching this one for sure. Looks incredible.
I'm a big BIG fan of Moon Studios. I'm sure this game will be brilliant and I'm super happy to see it coming to PS5. Day one purchase here.
This looks great and will definitely get on steam early access.
I love Ori, so I'll follow any of the developer's projects.
I love ori and adore the moon studio art style. And this game, just wow. Look so fun and gorgeous. So excited to play it on early access.
"where you make your own character"
OK, I'm interested.
This looks so cool!!
This looks really good, it’s looks like diablo 1 with modern graphics 😃
I love it when you just randomly find out a dev you love has an amazing looking game brewing, somehow missed this until now. And this does look amazing. Wishlist.
@HamKnight but it won't in terms of sales. Very few of these games are profitable enough. Most people care either about AAA games with the best graphics (hence all the "tHiS loOkS liKe a pS3 gAmE" comments) or something that goes viral and everyone talks about (e.g. the "untitled goose game").
This looks great..like a medieval Zelda or summin
I'm all in on this. The combat and class customisation looks fantastic.
I will surely keep my eyes on this
@naruball Clearly these games are doing well enough, otherwise they couldn't/ wouldn't be made. I assume both Ori games were decently profitable.
Not every game needs to make trillions of dollars to be a success.
@Jey887 if we don't have any numbers, it's impossible to tell if or how successful they are. Consider the makers of Until Dawn. They've been making games for a while, but were they profitable enough? A few weeks ago, you'd say, sure to keep making all these games, they must be. But we just heard they're struggling and had to lay off so many people.
Looks great being a dark fantasy RPG with the same title of a nice album from Ozzy Osbourne. I really love it.
Hoping for a physical PS5 version. Being published by Private Division, I am hopeful, they brought us the physical version of Hades.
Looking forward to this both ori games were awesome so be getting. Kinda gutted it's not a 3rd ori game though 🤣
I really don't need any souls-like influences in my ARPGs, I'll probably stick to Last Epoch and PoE2 (once it releases).
Am I correct in saying this looks like a more narrative driven and more open world version of Nioh 2? Either way I’m damn excited
