Resident Evil 4’s remake has been a humongous success for Capcom, with sales now topping seven million units since the title’s launch a year ago. At last count, the outing had sold 6.48 million units as of 31st December, so it’s moved another 500,000 copies since then. It did launch on Mac, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad late last year, too.
Speaking of the remake’s success in a financial report, the Japanese publisher said: “Capcom supported steady sales growth of the title with the release of the Separate Ways additional downloadable content, as well as with Resident Evil 4 VR mode free downloadable content for PSVR2 last year; in addition to these, Capcom also released Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition on 9th February, which includes the main game, the Separate Ways downloadable content, and the richly assorted downloadable content Extra Pack set.”
We awarded Resident Evil 4 a 10/10 in our PS5 review, and ranked it third in our Game of the Year countdown at the end of 2023.

Since they are pretty much planning on remaking the entire mainline RE games, I'm very curious how they will remake RE6.
"What're ya buyin?"
RE 4, apparently!
Oh God this will give them ideas again won't it?
They'll think RE4 has more action in it, so they'll start making insanely dumb Hollywood games again.
RE5 and 6 don't need remakes.
After this they should continue their FPS horror entries
Surely it needs to be code veronica soon. If any game is screaming to be remadecits that one. I dont know what they can do to 5 and 6 to actually make them good without changing everything.
With the exception of Code Veronica, I hope they focus on new RE games from now on. I enjoyed RE5 and even RE6 to some degree, but remakes aren't needed, imo.
While not complete the "PSVR2 trilogy" with a VR update for Resident Evil 7, which was already developped for VR. They can't forget abour that one, could they?
Earth to Sony, watch and learn.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I think the chance to remake CV is gone tbh
@NoHope
what the hell are you talking about? Sony's games sell better. And mind you, this is only on one platform instead of 5.
N.i.c.e. one of the greatest video games ever.resident evil 4 remake is a really good game.word up son
@OtsutsukiBoruto
I give you an example, free VR2 support. Ah what the hell, have another: the price of the remake.
Getting close to Palworld now.
Finished RE4 Remake and Separate Ways last weekend, love them! Even if they paid me, I wouldn’t play a remake of 5 or 6 no matter what they did to them. Bleh!
@LazyLombax, I know, right!😂
Come on Capcom, you allegedly have five RE games in the works and seeing how you’ve completed getting a gold version of this masterpiece out I think it’s time you start sneaking out some snippets of fresh information
Liked the original 2005 release, love the remake. The subtle changes made this one 'feel' a bit more RE than the 2005 game.
Well deserved Capcom, but now RE9 please
