When we interviewed Korean developer Shift Up recently, it emphasised the point that Stellar Blade’s selection of 30 costumes would all be included in-game at launch, with no microtransactions or additional purchases necessary. However, speaking with Game Informer, director Hyung-Tae Kim has hinted more outfits could be added post-release.
He didn’t elaborate on the developer’s plans, so it’s unclear whether these will be free or premium, but we’re generally okay with cosmetics after launch – it’s not like we can complain there are a lack of costumes in the base game, after all. He also didn’t provide a timeline for when the prospective content could be added, but we imagine it’s focused on finishing up the core title first.

Day one buy for me
If these outfits added post-launch are paid ones, they will be the most lucrative in any game so far. Many people will buy this game mainly for that!
I will be putting glasses on her and the outfit that covers her up the most. Not really into the soft core nonsense, but you do you.
Dress up or dress down? Either way im sold on this game unless something drastically bad happens with the reviews.
I mean 30? That's way more than I expected especially with not having to pay for it. Ngl though, I'm kind of hoping there is a shorter ponytail option. Just seeing her hair be that long is a bit too goofy for me.
GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!! 😃
There's not nearly enough fashion in good video games outside of MMOs...
As well as you action combat fans ..yeah right we see you 😉 every ✌️appreciator of form✌️will be booking launch day off work. Steller Blade fans are even hornier than Bethesda naked mod fans and that wasn't something I even thought possible but they have they have broken every previous metric on the horniest gamers known to humanity scale !!!
@Jett I like sexy women so much i married one
Hell she likes sexy women too! Who doesn't
@damn you caught me seconds before I edited my comment after choosing less inflammatory language and just returned to see yours so yeah consider me busted 🤣
@Jett "appreciator of form"!! Love it!
i'll edit mine and we'll pretend it never happened
@Carck No please I deserved that hahah and you were right 👍
@Carck
A bit cringe but OK lol
Anyway, great news. Paid or free costumes are always welcome
Do some crossover costumers, DOA, FF e.g.
Nice, can't wait for this game 😃
I don’t care about sexy women, but this game looks amazing, already preordered
Got the game preordered. Can't wait!!!
@ChrisDeku glasses and an outfit that covers her up? Sounds like bayonetta cosplay !
One thing I like about the Bayonetta games, and I guess you could say Tekken as well, is that there are a lot of options for different outfits. Bright Memory Infinite also provided some different choices. It's something I appreciate from devs and 30 right out of the gate sounds good. Hopefully some of the post-launch costumes will be free but if there's cool crossover stuff I wouldn't mind paying $1 or so.
I do like my women sexy in games and free costumes are always nice, but gameplay comes first. I'll wait for some reviews and let's play before I make a decision.
It's nice that you get 30 free outfits. In another game you can only unlock 1 or 2 extra outfits and the rest you have to pay for at a ridiculous price range.
@McBurn just buy it. If you don't like it, ask for a refund
Full Burqa please.
@CutchuSlow That's not how I prefer to do things, but feel free to do so yourself^^
@ChrisDeku Liiiiiiiiiiez
Not a feature I particularly use for any game, but it's nice they will be supporting it for those who do.
@Mega-Gazz
I have to say, glasses and covered-up sounds just as smexy as a skin-tight peek-a-boo inner thigh outfit. There are no rules for what turns you on @ChrisDeku.
@ChrisDeku Don't worry, the niqab DLC is a steal at £9.99
A lot of the outfits that we've seen so far look pretty good so I'm really curious to see what's added post-launch.
I realise by some of the comments here that I'm missing something. It seems like an average hack n slash game with risqué costumes.
Snore.
But everyone else should crack on and make themselves happy by downloading a bikini or something. No judgement.
@__jamiie Well it reminds a lot of people of games like Nier & Bayonetta, the bikini's are just a bonus. At least that's the case for me.
@ChrisDeku I never knew 20/20 vision was salacious.
@McBurn I did once. Bought a game that was nothing like how I expected it to be and got a refund.
But it was my fault for avoiding trailers. I usually avoid trailers for games I know I'm going to buy. Coz I want to be surprised lol.
@CutchuSlow Same thing for me. Trailers reveal way too much in my opinion.
And yeah I know the feeling of buying a game and finding out that it's just not for me...or straight up bad. So far I've always been to lazy to request a refund though. Sometimes it works in my favor where I download the game a couple years later and suddenly enjoy it. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for certain games.
@__jamiie
that sounds kinda judgy NGL
@MrMagic
Exactly. I'm all about the fanservice, but the gameplay has to deliver. So far I like the aesthetic, Eve seems likeable and the story will probably be filled with anime tropes but sometimes that can be fun. Now, all that's left is the action being good. The combat looks cool in previews but seeing isn't the same as playing. I hope there will be a demo.
@MikeOrator I do find it creepy when people start talking about what turns them on in video games.
@__jamiie
Then maybe stop using the disclaimer No judgement when you are, for all intents and purposes, judgeing
@MikeOrator I thought my original comment made it quite clear how I thought about things.
@__jamiie
Oh, it did, crystal clear.
@MikeOrator Oh good. I wouldn't want my point to get lost in a sea of pervy comments drooling over female game characters.
@__jamiie
See, there you go again. You SAY you are not judgeing but you absolutely are judgeing.
I am not judgeing you for being a passionless prude who doesn't know how to let loose and have a little fun. So why are you judgeing these little perverts who just want to stare at some anime tiddies with a thick side of cake?
@MikeOrator Having a different opinion isn't the same as judging.
Calling me a passionless prude is an interesting and quite rude take on things.
However just because I'm not sexually attracted to animated sprites doesn't mean that others can't get whatever 'joy' they choose from them.
The more skimpy the girls costumes the better.
There is a caveat however. The gameplay has to be good or the rest just doesn't matter.
