The eagerly anticipated New Game+ update is now available in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. It adds plenty of additions players have been asking for, and at least one no one had on their bingo card: access to a developer debug menu that messing around in could potentially corrupt your saves and disrupt Trophy progress.
Developer Insomniac addressed the unintended addition on Twitter, warning players that using the menu could get them burned but stressing that playing normally bears no risk. In the interest of not bricking your save game, and as some players have reported opening the menu accidentally, avoid pressing the L3 button while on the save screen.
Insomniac will release a hotfix to remove the surprise extra as soon as possible, but in the meantime, consider yourself warned. Stay safe out there, Spider-Fans! How do you think a dev menu managed to find its way into Marvel's Spider-Man 2's latest update? Let us know in the comments section below.

Tough few months for Insomniac! Geez!
They laid off the guy in charge of preventing that
all that budget for all them bugs , i guess when you put two spiders together they breed
ill see myself out….
The answer isn’t to not try out the dev menu. It’s to back up your save first and temporarily disable auto upload.
@MaddieTian Exactly, they just don’t want people to use it. Apparently you can unlock all the trophies with it in seconds, and there’s also details buried inside we aren't meant to know about like possible DLC etc, so you can see why they’d want to scare people off touching it.
I tried it out, you can load up the Final Cut scenes on NG+ and pop the trophy for that instantly. I think insomniac are just scaremongering. They waited ages to release the NG+ option and now people (trophy hunters especially) don’t even have to play through the game before they can secure their 100% in seconds. Perhaps moving forward, developers really should add the NG+ option from release and oversights like this wouldn’t even be a thing.
@Bionic-Spencer That explains why according to PSNprofiles a hell of a lot of people have got 100% today.
@VeldinX It will be interesting to see if Sony ban people using this to get the Platinum. They don’t like people messing with trophies.
@VeldinX What's the fun in unlocking all trophies in a instant?
Feel bad for Insomniac, they're having a rough time.
@Flaming_Kaiser Didn’t say there was. All I was really saying is Insomniac were probably not being totally forthright. For the record, I am against using a debug to insta-unlock all trophies in a game. Don’t really even like auto-popping stacks either tbh.
@VeldinX They made a mistake by leaving it in and they said don't used if you don't want to lose your save what's wrong with this?
