Update: Patch 1.003 is now available to download for Stellar Blade on PS5, weighing in at just over 3GB. Installing it will grant you access to the new Challenge Mode, three new Outfits, and some improvements under the hood.
Original article: Shift Up has delivered on its promise to share a Stellar Blade update this week, announcing the PS5 exclusive will take a patch tomorrow that adds a new challenge mode, more Outfits, and quality-of-life enhancements. The free update adds what looks like an impressively in-depth series of boss battles, allowing you to fight ones you've already defeated in the campaign and record a better time.
Screenshots posted on the PlayStation Blog reveal you will be judged on your overall time, and stats like damage taken, how many perfect parries you performed, and how much ammo you used will also be tracked. If you beat all 19 bosses on normal difficulty or above, you'll unlock the new Neurolink Suit. The update then adds two further Outfits in the White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi variations โ you'll be able to grab them from Adam's safehouse.
Here are the three new Outfits:
Patch 1.003 will also bundle in a few quality-of-life improvements, including the option to have the compass mapped to your HUD and enemy lock-on tracking retained across ranged attack mode and a general lock-on. This all arrives on PS5 tomorrow. If a Trophy unlock has glitched for you, that should be rectified after downloading the patch and the time limit for puzzles has also been increased. "Many other improvements" have then been made to the controls and balance of the experience. The Stellar Blade Twitter account is also teasing one more addition, but hasn't said what.
