After many rumours and a lot of speculation, LEGO Horizon Adventures is now official, announced at the Summer Game Fest live show. It's releasing later this year for PS5, PC, and... Nintendo Switch! An unexpected slate of platforms, the game is being made by Guerrilla Games in collaboration with Studio Gobo. Check out the trailer above.
The game is said to be a "playful and light-hearted story inspired by the events of the world of Horizon". The PlayStation Blog post continues: "In a distant future, the land is made of LEGO bricks and incredible dinosaur-like machines roam the Earth. Aloy, the game’s leading hero, is found in a cave as a baby and raised by a grizzled huntsman called Rost, who teaches her the way of the wilds. One day, Aloy embarks on a quest to discover her true destiny. Guided by a thousand-year-old hologram of a scientist called Elisabet, Aloy must confront Helis, the leader of a group of sun worshipers who bow to an Ancient Evil shrouded in mystery."
LEGO Horizon Adventures is designed around two-player co-op, and you can set that up either on the couch or through online connectivity. "There’s plenty of brick-based fun to be had too. Give the village of Mother’s Heart a makeover, decorating it in delightful ways to unlock unique LEGO buildings and ornaments. You can even dish out hilarious outfits for your friends to wear!"

Oh cool a Horizon Lego game coming to PS5, PC, and...WAIT WHAT THE F--
Spencer: I don't see how Helldivers 2 not being on xbox helps the industry.
Sony: Is he saying he doesn't want our LEGO Horizon game on xbox? Ok!
😂😂😂
Huh. ON SWITCH????
Thought this would have been a PlayStation and PC only thing.
Graphics is insane! And on switch too, gigachad move from Sony
The Switch release caught me off guard and does raise questions about Sony supporting Nintendo consoles going forward. Anyway i'm excited.
Wow.... Not really. Who asked for this?
Switch version is insane but I'm all for it.
How long will it be before people start questioning why Nintendo isn't sharing now lol
We're.......getting an actual lego thunderjaw arn't we? Right Lego? RIGHT LEGO????
This looks really good 👍 will enjoy this with the kids
Just don’t get it. If I want to play Horizon, I’ll play Horizon. Odd project all round.
Silver lining is that it’s not TT. Means we have an actual Lego game coming still.
@Nintendo4Sonic I hate it when people say "who asked for this". Did anyone ask for Metal Gear Solid 1? How about Halo? Helldivers? Hi-Fi Rush? Kirby? Nobody wanted Zelda Windwaker. Sometimes we don't know what we want.
My girlfriend have been waiting for a new Lego game, but she doesn't own a Playstation. So happy she will be able to enjoy it on her Switch
This broke my brain.
This looks so much weirder than I expected it to. I'm in.
Interesting that MS are now putting out PS5 games but Sony would rather support the Switch then release a Lego game on Xbox.
I mean releasing a Lego game on Switch makes absolutely sense but it's still weird to see
"and Nintendo Switch"
I'm sorry, what!? Another Sony IP on a Nintendo Platform
How about Gravity Rush and Ape Escape on the Switch as well, Sony?
Damn it, it looks pretty good
I haven't played many Lego games at all, but I'll definitely be getting this one since I'm a huge fan of the Horizon series. A more lighthearted affair is not a bad thing.
I kind of love it. Gives the Horizon IP some much needed broadened appeal.
Looks like it's based on the first game this might ha e been the remake rumor along. Wonder if Sony plans on bringing other titles over to Nintendo. A lot of PS4 games could be ported to the next switch.
"Sony needs more kid-friendly games"
"Who asked for a Lego Horizon game!?"
Don’t hate me for saying this. But honestly, it looks more fun than the real games.
Why does this actually look good 😂
I have a PS5, Portal and Switch. I do think that if Microsoft is bringing games to PS5, that Sony should reciprocate and bring games like this one to Xbox.
@DennisReynolds Sony just hates Microsoft it must really piss them off Bungie still going to release their games on Xbox
Lego games sell well on the the Switch, so I guess I can understand that part of it, but I truly expected the game to be developed outside of PlayStation Studios and be multi-platform. Since the game is co-developed by PlayStation Studios, there must be something with the Lego license preventing them from making the game a PlayStation exclusive, but I'm sure PlayStation wouldn't budge on the Xbox part.
@ED_209 nobody said kid friendly , we said platformers and quirky games and less cinematic super serious interactive movies
This game looks so good!
Looks nice, whole world is made of bricks 👍 but the switch version is going to look like asssss
Removed - trolling/baiting
When they said Switch I honestly thought I misheard them. What parallel dimension have we slipped into though?
Switch release is unexpected.
Cool that it’s coming to Switch. I’ll be picking up a PS5 copy for myself. Sony may not have any “big story” games this fall/holiday, but Lego Horizons and Astro Bot are all I need. I love me some silly fun and creative games like these.
Without Nintendo there's no PlayStation. Cool that they've made up.
Excellent move from Sony to bring this to Switch. It will pay off in the future.
This is looks fun :3
Switch release is unexpected though but i guess that because "Lego" isn't own by Sony. But the irony when Nintendo made Lego Undercover 1 exclusives for WiiU for 3 years. But now Sony just sharing Lego Horizon with Nintendo from day 1...but not Xbox though lol.
@nomither6 Most if not all platformers are kids friendly and Lego games have some platforming. So yeah, people who wants platformers got what they want with this game and Astro Bot.
Snubbing Xbox. I wonder if it’s worth it as Xbox are clearly going to see that.
@AdamNovice those questions are going to come from Nintendo shareholders...
Instant BAN from me. 🙄
I never like that 1st party Sony game.
@Toot1st i'm sure they will cry of frustration when Marathon is out and makes them money on xbox, the same way MLB microtransactions do every year LOL.
Out of context. Can anyone please help explain why ghost of tsushima DC is supposed to be $29.39 in the summer game fest sale but it's actually $50.00 on the ps store.
@Toot1st Why would it annoy Sony when they agreed that Bungie could stay multiplatform?
I'm glad it's on Switch, where 2 player co-op Lego games belong. I wouldn't buy i ton Switch as I'm sure it will look and play better on PS5 but I'm glad it's there.
This will probably make me hold off on Astrobot unless that too has couch co-op. My family is all about the couch co-op.
I never double dip on games but I'm counting this as something different b/c of the couch co-op. My wife watched me play the original and now she can play along.
Edit: Wow that trailer was on all the drugs. Looks very Skylanders, wasn't expecting that. If hotdog guy was player 2 I wasn't buying it though. 🤣
Wipeout 64 was actually the first Sony game on Nintendo consoles so this has happened before but this time it probably has something to do with the Lego licence and the game being co-developed, anyway it actually looked good I'll probably buy it and play it with my nephew when he comes over.
First Lego game I'm legit excited for. Looks like a lot of fun.
@Ashina
Don't stop there... Astro Bot as well. It's exactly the type of game the Nintendo audience likes. Would be a good Switch 2 launch game.
Thank you xbox for bringing your games to playstation, in return we will release a game on the xb.... Sike! Switch.
In return Nintendo will give Sony absolutely nothing, less nothing actually so why? Microsoft also gives Nintendo some games and in return they also give them nothing. Why is Nintendo only expected to receive and not give?
@Ashina Sure but first we need Bayonetta 2 & 3! We need to know that Nintendo is also willing to play ball and share 🙂
Not gonna lie, this looks pretty good!
@Tecinthebrain Didn't Nintendo give Sony the rights to make the Zelda movie? They'll make bank off that if the movie turns out to be good.
@Tecinthebrain I wouldn't say this one LEGO spinoff to a PlayStation IP suddenly entitles them to some Nintendo stuff. Nor would I say Nintendo or its fans expect to receive.
LEGO just sells on Nintendo — plain and simple.
Nintendo isn't a 'Direct' Competitor - Sony even said they weren't 'Premium' Console Competition during the ABK deal - but Xbox Consoles specifically are.
This a Sony IP with no doubt a 'cut' going to Lego for their IP too. Therefore they need to sell more for 'both' to be happy and from Sony's perspective, when Switch gamers decide to buy a 'Premium' Console, they'll buy the PS5. They also think that PC gamers will want to buy a PS5 to play the games Sony releases on their PS5 'first' that much sooner by getting them into 'Sony IP's'...
The Switch version was definitely a surprise
Wait what?! Switch! What year is it that Sony crosses platforms to a direct competitor?
Gonna get this yo play with my wife as she isnt a gamer (yet) Switch was a surprise to be sure but makes alot of sense given the target audience of this game. I'm excited to play it on PS5 😀
@HotGoomba I agree that consumers don’t always know what they want if it’s something they’ve never experienced before. All your examples, bar Zelda, were new, arguably, genre defining IP. This is an existing well known AAA rpg franchise turned into a seemingly generic Lego game.
i'm not saying its going to happen , but if sony can put a game on the switch , can i imagine a nintendo game on the ps5?
@Nintendo4Sonic lego games sell really well , and it might sound crazy , but they make games for other people besides you or me , there are going to be a lot of games that aren't targeted to you.
@twitchtvpat A Nintendo game on PS console isn't gonna happen. Nintendo doesn't want to share their games with their competitors. Heck, they even quickly killed fans projects.
That's pretty neat.
Got to admit it seems a little petty and unsportsmanlike for a company like Sony to pull an "on every platform except one" thing. It kind of confirms what Microsoft was saying about Sony paying to keep games off Xbox if Sony now does multiplat with one specific exclusion while every other game but one at the show is on everything.
Though the metaphor presentation with the Microsoft corpo logo after the Xbox logo also made me gag.
@TrickyDicky99 But did you see all the vr only games for such a major show. ONE company supports their VR and it's not the blue one. Well, it is the blue one but more of a steel blue...
@TrickyDicky99 "Sony putting more games on rival consoles than PSVR2"
That's actually very accurate now 😅 heck PSVR2 wish it was getting just a tiny fraction of the attention Sony gives PC.
Given Sony's big push for Horizon, I could see the Switch version of this be Aloy's gateway into the next Smash game.
Showed this to my kid just now and he totally lost it. Cant wait.
@Wilforce
It happened before. Sony released Wipeout on the N64
That just doesn't make any sense. Horizon is the less appealing IP, with its boring, generic universe and repulsive characters. Nobody identify to Horizon, nobody care about this IP. It's just pointless. I'm pretty sure that even a Lego GoW or Elden Ring would have make people hysterical. But why fighting so hard with Horizon, just let it go.
2036: "How Sony killed the PlayStation brand back then Part 1"
Yes, my friends, the slow death of the PlayStation as a console has begun. It won't happen immediately but it will be a slow process similar to Xbox.
I fully expect that the rumored Horizon remake will also come to the Switch 2. and then at the latest it will be clear which direction Sony will go in the future.
And do you know what the worst thing about it is? We PlayStation fans will get absolutely NOTHING from Nintendo!
