Sly Cooper PS2 Is PS Plus Premium's Biggest Classic Hit So Far

Hopefully with the success of the first Sly game Implicit Conversions/Sony don't wait until October or November to release Sly 2 then release Sly 3 in February 2025. I hope 2 and 3 are released in July and August.

Proof that the IP still holds a soft spot in everyone's hearts.

I loved playing Sly as a kid. I think I replayed Sly 2 at least 2 times a month cause I just loved it so much.

Almost like people still want to play the games that made PlayStation big in the first place. It's almost like Sony forgot its roots chasing after all these cinematic experiences.

Now bring on Sly 2, 3, all of PS2 Ratchets, God of War 1 and 2 , and ICO.

@ATaco These games didn't sell particularly well. As opposed to the success to Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo, Spider-man and some other ones.

It's also worth keeping in mind that the data come from a niche part of ps4/5 owners.

Which one did they give away for free when PS3 got hacked I for the platinum for it was it this one because I actually enjoyed that game

Does this only count users tracked with their trophies? Sony themselves said Toy Story 2 was the most downloaded classic at one point (didn’t have trophies until recently) so surely that one would still be in the top releases too?

Legend of Dragoon and Sly Cooper need to be revived if you don't want to spend a 100 million plus budget make them a Double A re-release. I would love to see a remake or high end remaster of Dark Cloud as well clean it up and modernise them a little.

Sly cooper is such a cool franchise , i wish sucker punch would do another series in the same vein but with human characters. i don’t care what the graphical style is, just as long as it isn’t designed in cinematic movie walking simulator fashion in boring open world style.

the ps2 and3 library is incredible man. I dont understand why sony jates its own ips as much as they do. How come microsoft offers old games being playable digitally AND with the disc and sony cant AND the game dont have fps or resolution boosts

I was playing Sly 1 on the PS3 collection yesterday and my four-year-old nephew came into my room and was watching me play. Whenever Sly and Bentley would talk to each other, my nephew kept moving back and forth to look at their faces on each corner of the screen. I hope he checks out the game when he gets older.

@naruball Well lets compare the budgets of the games. Sony has fantastic games there are older games that were so original and fun to play and they make your platform look good and more kid friendly while you're at it. If you make it remaster or remake them while not going for a 100 million budget but with love and smaller teams that have the same passion to make them work iit will probably be win. Let's hope team Asobi will show them that.

@Flaming_Kaiser Oh, I definitely agree with that. I just don't think that it's games like Sly Cooper that made Sony big. They definitely helped to some extent, but not nearly as much as games like Uncharted.

Deserved and it doesn't surprise me. People want more games like Astro Bot and Sly Cooper.

I hope this increases the possibility of a new Sly game, since he needs to be freed from Egypt.

Sadly it's a poor quality emulation with smeary visuals, music cues not loading bugs and a few other issues. Shame too because it's such a beloved franchise, but original hardware or any free GPL type emulator can do a better job for a more playable experience.

@naruball I agree but it's the reason i got a Playstation they had so many different games that is what made the brand special to me.

I really would love a new Infamous to that was so much fun. Or even better Legend of Dragoon/ Legaia.

Twisted Metal World Tour with a online mode in it how awsome would it be to blow Paris or the mills in the Netherlands, Driving on the Skyscrapers in the US again with the ridiculous fun 2D endings good times.

A ICO remaster, Dark Cloud there are so many awsome older games or a better Medievil remake then we got Ape Escape to much to choose from. 😅
