Samurai Jack will join the roster of MultiVersus when the new season launches on 23rd July, and he’ll be joined by Beetlejuice at a later date. “With his unmatched swordsmanship and incredible agility, he’s truly a force to be reckoned with, and in the new MultiVersus gameplay trailer, Samurai Jack’s fighting skills as a Bruiser class character are on full display, which utilise his mystical katana blade, agile footwork, and quick reflexes to send opponents flying off the map,” the press release reads.
The fresh season, named Back in Time, will also introduce Ranked Mode, as well as the Water Tower as an all-new map. Naturally, this has been inspired by Warner Bros’ iconic ident, and it promises “surprise nods” to popular characters. You can check out a first look at the new arena, as well as Samurai Jack gameplay, in the trailer embedded above.

Samurai Jack is a pretty awesome pick. I like it!
They really have a whole toy box to choose from, can't believe they haven't added one of their most popular IPs in Harry Potter. Sadly though the hype has died down again, you really are gambling with money trying to enter the crowded live service rat race.
Ben 10 should honestly make it into the game. That’s likely the one thing that could bring me back.
@Tecinthebrain I despise that it’s an overly greedy GaaS.
I bought Street Fighter 6, MK1, and Tekken 8 day 1 and would have done the same for Multiversus if it wasn’t GaaS.
@OmegaStriver I mean, they’d still likely be charging a Season Pass for these new characters even if it had been $60 at launch.
@get2sammyb I'd much rather pay a flat rate for all these characters than pay for the opportunity to grind with the hope of eventually getting the characters I want.
I guess there's the idea that, as a GaaS, you can get the characters without paying a dime — which I'll try to do for my boy Jack. But I'd much rather work an extra hour at my actually job for some Samurai Jack money than adopt a second job as a grinder for 1-2 weeks.
@get2sammyb They should really do the Brawlhalla thing where they sell a pack that unlocks all present and future characters.
@AdamNovice @get2sammyb But they would have made a effort to release a full package of gamemodes and things like a storymode to name something. Now you wait for the the next piece of content and when that gets stale people move on untill the next update never getting a stable amount of players.
That's pretty cool, I like how they're going Jack to the Past. But where's Ice Bear?
@Flaming_Kaiser People drop off games even that are "complete" at launch, though.
@RoomWithaMoose You can pay outright for any character you want. There's no need to grind.
I'm legit happy to see Jack in the game
@get2sammyb That is correct but if you release are barebone train wreck people tend to move on quite a lot faster a great example the Avengers and Suicide Squad games. You only get one first impression and if people checked didn't like then you have a big chance they won't bother coming back.
