A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is already shaping up to be a tense and terrifying first-person experience for prospective PS5 players, and courtesy of IGN, we have a 10-minute look at gameplay to get your pulse pounding.
Inspired by the famous film franchise of the same name, The Road Ahead tells the story of Alex, an asthmatic college student, and her boyfriend, Martin, attempting to survive in a world where the slightest sound can result in a swift and violent end. Developed by Stormind Games and announced in 2021, it's expected to be released later this year on PS5, and it will be one we will be playing with all the lights on.
What do you think? Does A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead seem like a suitably creepy take on survival horror? Don't make a sound as you creep into the comments section below.

If it doesn't have mic integration for sound level detection, it's a huge missed opportunity.
I thought the new movie was awful, didn't do anything well except for that cat. So I'm pretty done with this franchise. It was a cool gimmick at first but I've had enough.
Reminds me a lot of Alien Isolation!
@redapt 100% want that Alien Isolation style microphone detection on any platform that supports it.
@Cjam36 I also tried to watch the films to see what it was about but got bored pretty quickly, you barely even see the alien monsters in the movies and there is no action or anything noteworthy about them, it's all just hype 🤷🏾♀️
The game would be just as boring especially when you wouldn't be able to see the monsters anyway? Would it be a interactive visual novel or something?
@Cjam36 that new movie was so empty. When it ended I was so confused, what were they trying to achieve with it? The story was barely there, I guess they just wanted to show what the early hours were like but they did that in part two so what was the point? Like it was so nothing.
Edit: also, if they want to capitalise on the 'quiet' gimmick, it could be done so much better, the sense of tension is secondary in these movies, apart from the first one which did it so well. It seems like a one and done thing but they're trying to milk it for all it has, or all it hasn't got. Tired premise, give us something else.
