EA Sports has perhaps realised that having a human potato as its cover star is not best for business. The publisher has therefore swapped out Manchester City’s Erling Haaland for Real Madrid’s much more agreeable Jude Bellingham with EA Sports FC 25. The boy from Birmingham has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom, initially attracting attention at just 16-years-old while playing for his boyhood club, before transitioning to Borussia Dortmund and finally the Spanish giants.
Bellingham enjoyed an incredible debut year in La Liga, where he earned Player of the Season while winning the league, cup, and prestigious Champions League. The cover image for the standard version of the game captures his iconic celebration, as he coolly soaks in the atmosphere following a last-minute winner in El Clásico.
As previously reported, the soccer sim’s Ultimate Edition will see Bellingham joined by a slew of stars, including David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Gianluigi Buffon, and Catalan football phenom Aitana Bonmatí.
“I played this game with my brother all the time growing up, and I’ve always thought about how incredible it would be to one day be featured on the cover,” Bellingham said, presumably referring to FIFA 17. “There have been so many iconic players on the cover over the years, and I am delighted to be the most recent English player to be bestowed with this honour since 2011. I’m also truly honoured to be featured on the cover of Ultimate Edition with true legends of the game both past and present in Beckham, Bonmatí, Buffon, and Zidane.”

England’s biggest win (and hopefully not only).
Well deserved, the best player of Euro 2024
Dibu Martinez > any European player.
@Czar_Khastik Lamine Yamal xD
Sammy took no prisoners with that opening sentence.
@Czar_Khastik Insane to suggest, other than his last minute goal he was pretty quiet. There were an awful lot of players much better than him like Yamal, Guler, Rodri, Williams, Mikautadze, Gakpo. He wasn’t even the best England player, Pickford was great.
@nessisonett oh dear, you fell victim to the Sarcasm GOAT and went full torpedo in on the reply.
@BusyOlf To be fair, there are people seriously suggesting Bellingham played well at the Euros.
@BusyOlf cold
Turns up on the cover of FC25, shame he didn’t turn up at the Euros.
Thankfully it isn't Donkey Kane, as he was truly awful during the Euros, and, in my opinion should never have gone, and the fact that someone more capable was not in his position instead probably cost England the title. As for Bellingham, yes, it was a spectacular last minute goal that saved England an early exit, but that was pretty much all he did all tournament...
A Beatles song inferred there? He didn't even join Liverpool FC? 😔
Anyway, intersting he is on the cover of FC25. The enormous and inevitable commercialism around him is slightly concerning. Whilst he is incredible at club level, he leaves a lot to be desired at international level (unlike past legends) bar the odd performances. Still very young mind you and a long career ahead of him hopefully.
@Czar_Khastik there were 552 players at Euro 2024. English players weren't even in the top 226 let alone player of the tournament. Worst football played, 6 of England's 7 games would feature in the top 10 worst games of the Euros.
BTW I know you're comment was sarcastic 😊👍
@riceNpea @nessisonett @REALAIS @BusyOlf You all made my day with the replies, thanks
On a serious note, although Yamal, Williams, Musiala etc. stole the show, I was a big fan of Dani Olmo because he played in a Croatian club for a while and being such a modest but great player is something you don't see every day
@Czar_Khastik
Best diver by far, I agree on that one. Glad England lost to Spain, a new coach will show what this team is truly capable of.
@NoHope I'm not so sure a new manager will make a difference.
There's a inherent problem with English players performing for thier country. How many managers have tried and failed to get England to win a trophy? It can't be all those managers' faults.
Worse teams with worse managers have won trophies inspite of their disadvantages. England manage to lose finals even when they're at home and 1-0 up. And historically they lose to teams, more often tham not, who are viewed as being a challenge to beat.
I put most of the blame on players being perenial bottlers when it matters most
All these salty England comments. Rofl 🤣
We were a goalline clearance away from extra time and with a bit of better control, Ollie Watkins was also in on goal with a masterful through ball from Bellingham.
Everyone banging on how England are a moments team when Spain played better for like 5 minutes.
You do you Bellingham. Don't listen to the haters, you are the best footballer we have been fortunate to have, since, well... forever.
@themcnoisy
"the best footballer we have been fortunate to have, since, well... forever."
Lol.
He had some nice touches and that 95th minute equaliser was superb but most other times he either looked knackered or was on the deck. He is a great player, though.
